Kodak LS443 EasyShare

While Kodak's latest model in the LS range boasts a large 2.2 OLED screen, it only offers 3 megapixels - in steps its slightly older brother - the LS443, a more compact 4 megapixel version for you to play with.

Lightweight; Good Battery; Easyshare dock enclosed

Get a memory card, 16Mb internal RAM isn’t enough

While the images that the camera produces are fairly good, getting there is a bit of a bind. The time it takes for the image to be captured, the poorly lit LCD display and the lack of memory all makes this camera a bit awkward to use.

Kodak EasyShare LS443

The Kodak EasyShare cameras have won kudos for simplicity and image quality, but they've also garnered criticism for their cheap-feeling plastic bodies. The Kodak EasyShare LS443 breaks that mold with a compact, sleek, and stylish all-metal body. It's...

Digital Cameras - Kodak EasyShare LS443 Digital Camera Review, Information, Specifications

Camera Operation As I've come to expect from Kodak's EasyShare digicam line, the LS443 has a very user-friendly interface with simple-to-navigate menus and controls, and plain-English menu prompts. The largely automatic exposure control limits user...

The LS443 features a 3x, Schneider-Kreuznach Variogon zoom lens, equivalent to a 35-105mm zoom on a 35mm camera, with a maximum aperture of f/2.8. By default, the camera's autofocus mechanism uses a Multi-Zone system to "find" the primary subject...

KODAK EasyShare LS443

Kodak's LS433 is similar than its little brother the LS633, and they fight it out on slightly different battlefields. The 4-megapixel LS443 is the slightly bulkier of the two, has a smaller display and weighs a little more.

Kodak EasyShare LS443

So how well is it all implemented? And how well does the camera compare with the various 4 Megapixel competitors? Find out now

Decent photo quality w/saturated colors ; Good value for a 4MP camera at $499 ; EasyShare system allows for easy e-mailing and printing of photos ; AF illuminator ; Solid, well-designed body ; Nice playback, movie modes

Over-processed images noticeably worse than competition ; LCD is pretty lousy ; Camera forgets settings when turned off ; Can't set ISO values in long exposure mode ; EasyShare software (on computer) pretty basic ; Sluggish shot-to-shot speed

At the same time, they're still behind in one very important area: image quality. There are many people who like "Kodak color", which is on display in the galleries on this site. Images are very saturated -- perhaps too much so in some cases. But what...
