Leica C-Lux

The Leica C-Lux pocket camera is a premium edition of the Panasonic ZS200. It's prettier, but also pricier.

15x zoom power. 20MP 1-inch image sensor. 9.4fps burst capture. Raw image support. Touch LCD. Sharp 4K video. Wi-Fi.

Narrow aperture. EVF on the small side. LCD doesn't tilt. Crop limits wide-angle 4K video capture.

Bottom Line: The Leica C-Lux pocket camera is a premium edition of the Panasonic ZS200. It's prettier, but also pricier.

Yes, £875 is a lot to spend on a compact camera – it would alternatively buy a very decent interchangeable compact system camera or consumer level DSLR for example – even if you do get more ‘bang’ for your buck in the shape of a one inch sensor.

A versatile superzoom compact camera and an ideal travel companion, but that Leica badge doesn't come cheap

Relatively large sensor ; Versatile zoom range ; Feature-packed, with 4K video

Just a re-skin of a (much) cheaper Panasonic ; Image quality barely beats a camera phone ; Screen doesn't articulate

On paper the C-Lux pretty much as it all: a compact camera with a large image sensor promising decent image quality, teamed with 15x optical zoom and plenty of features. Trouble is, you get all these benefits with the near identical Panasonic...

Leica C-Lux review: This is no ordinary point-and-shoot, even if it looks like one. The capabilities of C-Lux are more akin to a mirrorless camera and not a compact.
