Nikon Coolpix L6 review

Despite all the fancy, feature-rich cameras we've seen this year, 2006 may make its mark as the year that features went by the wayside in digital cameras. Just as Olympus's FE series brings new meaning to the idea of point and shoot, Nikon's L series...

Simple operation; small size; long battery life.

Slow performance; no ISO control; very slow flash recycle time.

The Coolpix L6 doesn't offer much control and is quite slow, but in good light, it can take nice photos.

Simple operation ; Small size ; Long battery life

Slow performance ; No ISO control ; Very slow flash recycle time

While we were not pleased with the inability to select ISO, the Coolpix L6's biggest drawback is its glacially slow performance, especially with flash enabled. If you can get past the fact that you'll have to wait anywhere from 2.5 to 8.1 seconds...

Nikon Coolpix L6 Digital Camera - Express Review - The Imaging Resource!

Beginning at the PMA convention in Florida last year, Nikon has been making a bold effort to breathe new life into its entry-level "L" series cameras. Nikon adds to this "Life Support" with the Nikon Coolpix L6, a slim-and-trim, budget-buster model...

One of the most attractive entry-level, AA-compatible digital cameras on the market ; Decent overall speed, including quick start-up and barely noticeable shutter lag ; Very competitive price for such a feature-rich camera ; Extraordinary battery life,...

Tends to overexpose shots ; Many pictures suffered from motion blur ; Produced flat color ; No manual control over ISO ; hard to get camera to ISO 800 ; ISO 800 shots were mottled with noise ; Slow flash recycle time

According to CIPA -- the Japanese Camera and Imaging Products Association which has set the standard for camera battery testing -- the Nikon Coolpix L6 can capture 1,000 shots on a single set of AA Lithium batteries. The Coolpix L6's great battery life...

Nikon Coolpix L6 Digital Camera Review

Unlike its predecessor L5, the Nikon L6 has 1MP less and also 2x less optical zoom. The battery life is impressive, but the shutter lag is slow (long time to charge flash). The design is smooth, quite flat to fit the pockets, lightweight and with...

Nikon Coolpix L6 6.0MP Digital Camera

Nikon is not known as a company to slow down their release schedule, and currently they have a huge collection of point-and-shoot cameras. Today we are taking a look at a model from their lifestyle series, the six megapixel L6.

Because of the value nature of the L6, I am not going to delve too deeply into image quality, but we will touch the basics and make sure there are no evident issues. First up are two random pictures, one of a macro and the other of outdoors.
