Nikon Coolpix S60 digital camera

Buttons, they are good for nothing aren't they? Well that's what Nikon thinks with the Coolpix S60. But can a buttonless digital camera still be easy to use? We get snapping to find out. Nikon has produced a camera that is not only easy to use, but...

Touchscreen interface, picture quality

Touchscreen resolution, not a very wide angle lens

Nikon has produced a camera that is not only easy to use, but also takes better than average pictures. However, picture quality isn't the best around: Nikon do a better job themselves with other models, but this is a model still worth looking at.

Nikon Coolpix S60 Review

The Coolpix S60 gives its best results when the light is good, producing good image quality with good detail at ISO 64. As is common with point-and-shoot cameras, higher ISOs are visibly noisy.

Nikon S60 Review

Touch screens are all the rage and if you like them, then check out the Nikon Coolpix S60. It features an extre large 3.5-in. touch panel LCD that places all the controls at your fingertips: touch,…

Nikon Coolpix S60

My review of the Nikon Coolpix S60 includes sample photos and shutter lag times. There is also a detailed write up of my tests and price comparisons.

Touch screen control - build quality - help text - touch control auto focusing and auto exposure

Darkness in the corner of many photos

Picture quality compares well with other pocket digital cameras. The touch controlled LCD screen will appeal to gadget lovers. The camera is easy enough to use, looks good and is certainly an option to add to your shortlist.

Nikon Coolpix S60

The Nikon Coolpix S60 has an intuitive design with an impressive 3.5inch LCD screen on the rear. There are currently two colour options to choose from, black or red.

Nikon CoolPix S60

Touch-screen camera with 5x optical zoom.

Touch screen works quite well, pictures sharp, looks good

Very noisy images, some chromatic aberration, slow to start up

A solid touch-screen compact camera, the Nikon CoolPix S60 will suit users after a simple yet stylish and sophisticated compact.

Nikon Coolpix S60

The touch-screen Nikon Coolpix S60 is certainly sexy, but its images are underwhelming at best.

Sleek and good-looking. Big, responsive touch screen. Simple touch gestures make photo playback a snap.

No hardware zoom control; zooming in and out with the touch screen can be very difficult. Captures fewer resolution lines than competitors. HDMI-out, but no HD video recording. Flash shots are underexposed. Poor battery life.

Pocket Digicam Looks Good, But It's Too Touchy

Nikon's pocket shooter has an iPhone-like touchscreen, but as a camera, it falls a bit short.

Nikon Coolpix S60 review: Nikon Coolpix S60

Nikon Coolpix S60

Optical image stabilization; 3.5-inch touch-screen LCD; pretty; fun features.

Comparatively slow interface; relatively slow for its class; soft images; all but the power and shutter are touch-screen controlled.

Fun features and chic styling make the Nikon Coolpix S60 a tasty choice for casual point-and-shoot use. However, if you need speed or snapshot perfection, this isn't your camera.
