Nikon Coolpix S7c

Nikon has a reputation for quality, but is the Coolpix S7c really worth the money?

Nikon Coolpix S7c review

Nikon introduced Wi-Fi to its S series of slim cameras earlier this year with the Coolpix S6 . While we liked the camera overall, we questioned the value of the Wi-Fi, since it let you upload only to your computer or print to a printer that was...

Great click wheel; attractive, slim design; supports photo e-mail from T-Mobile access points; solid color reproduction.

Annoying top buttons; no proxy Wi-Fi access other than T-Mobile.

Nikon adds T-Mobile hot-spot access to its slim Wi-Fi camera and continues to deliver the image quality we enjoyed in the S6.

Nikon Coolpix S7c

This may be Nikon's most stylish and well-specified compact ever, but how does it perform?......

Styling, Extensive feature list, Good handling and performance

Loss of fine detail when enlarged, Poor ISO 1600 performance, Strangely, no red-eye fix

On paper the S7c has almost everything you'd want on a point-and-shoot camera and it delivers too, as long as you don't enlarge the images too much. Under close scrutiny, over-zealous processing and noise reduction turn fine detail to mush.

Nikon Coolpix S7

Nikon takes the lead in the wireless-camera race by including some novel features on its cool new shooter, such as the ability to e-mail your photos directly from the device. Still, it's far from perfect.

Easy-to-use Coolpix Connect e-mail feature. Attractive design. Excellent 3-inch LCD screen. Nice price considering all its abilities. Very good image quality.

Some wireless functions can be confusing. Performance could be better. Noticeable shutter lag. Can't e-mail full-resolution shots.
