D2Xs

Nikon's D2Xs is the successor to the company's top-flight 12.4-megapixel D2X professional digital SLR. The new model features a new 2.5-inch screen, along with an improved viewfinder, enhanced metering accuracy, longer battery life and a raft of...

Sublime image quality, low noise, superb build and handling. Nikon lenses, especially wide-angle zooms, can't be bettered by anyone.

Looks expensive to anyone other than a pro-user. No RAW editing package or AC adaptor included. High-gain settings should be replaced by equivalent ISO ratings to avoid confusion.

At close to £3,000 plus VAT, the D2Xs compares favourably on price to rivals. Although there's not enough here to warrant switching brands, or to trade up from its predecessor, the D2Xs is a stunning performer

Nikon D2Xs review

The 12.4-megapixel Nikon D2Xs digital SLR sports no fewer than 20 improvements over its predecessor, the D2X.

Nikon D2Xs

The Nikon D2Xs has just been replaced with the new D3 but that won't stop many Nikon users looking for a good deal. With a resolution of 12.4MP, it has been the top Nikon D-SLR for some time now and offers a build-quality and handling experience that's...

So what’s the argument for buying the D2Xs over a cheaper model? Well, the build-quality is far superior, with the D2Xs designed to take some serious bashing. If resolution is really important then the slightly larger results from the D2Xs will be...

Nikon D2Xs review

Nikon D2Xs

Top-notch image quality; professional body; very low noise even at high ISOs.

Expensive; large and heavy; no full-frame sensor.

Nikon's flagship dSLR ranks among the best 35mm-format cameras currently made, but some pros may take umbrage with its less-than-full-frame sensor.

Overall, the Nikon D2Xs is an amazing camera. It is an extremely responsive, powerful imaging tool meant to tackle even the most challenging photographic situations, and it lives up to the task. Though there are other cameras that can top it in certain...

"I've got a Nikon camera, I love to take a photograph???" so sang Paul Simon in his ode to photography, "Kodachrome." For many, the Nikon name is synonymous with photography. That's in part because, as they claim, more professional photographers user...
