Olympus C-765

Olympus C-765 Review. The 10x optical zoom lens is the stand out feature of this camera. There are also manual exposure controls making it appeal to the more serious photographer.

Powerful 10x zoom ; Better build quality than C-725 ; Feels good in the hand ; Diopter correction available ; Excellent picture quality in a wide range of photographic situations

Indoor shots in very poor light

I really liked this camera. As well as the 10x optical zoom it has a great feature set. The build quality is good and it felt right in the hand. Recommended.

Olympus C-765 Ultra Zoom

Avid photographers on a budget get manual controls, a 10X optical zoom, and impressive macro capabilities for $100 less than what this camera's C-770 Ultra Zoom stablemate costs.

Full manual controls ; Versatile 10X optical zoom ; Solid battery life ; Excellent macro capabilities ; Good image quality

No raw format ; Slow autofocus under low-contrast lighting ; No hotshoe ; Mediocre video-clip features

Olympus C-765 / C-770 Ultra Zoom

The Olympus C-765 and C-770 Ultra Zooms are updated versions of 2003's popular C-740 and C-750 cameras. For 2004, they've received a sleeker body, the TruePic TURBO engine (for better performance and image quality), MPEG4 support (C-770 only), and...

Excellent photo quality ; Compact metal bodies (considering the size of the lens) ; Many manual controls ; My Mode feature lets you store favorite settings to spot on mode dial ; Conversion lenses supported ; Remote control included [C-770 only ; Hot...

Poor low light focusing, no AF-assist lamp ; LCD/EVF too dark to be useable in low light ; Full shutter speed range only available in "M" mode ; Full manual only on CD ; Image stabilization would be nice

Regardless of which one you choose, both of these Ultra Zooms are great cameras.

Olympus C-765 Ultra Zoom

The Olympus C-765 Ultra Zoom is what they claim is the worlds smallest 10x optical zoom digital camera. It has a 4 megapixel CCD sensor and a great range of features including super macro mode, many manual settings, a 1.8inch LCD and an electronic...

The camera is light-weight, easy-to-handle and perfect for capturing shots from a distance. However this 4.0 million pixel model is equally practical for shooting subjects in extreme close-up, as the Super Macro mode lets you shoot from just 3cm away
