Olympus Camedia D-395 review

Olympus Camedia D-395 The 3.2-megapixel Olympus Camedia D-395 offers a nice set of basic features at a very affordable price. However, its 33mm lens (35mm-camera equivalent) limits its versatility. It doesn't cost much more to get a camera with a 3X...

Budget price; basic feature set with a few nice extras.

No optical zoom; average image quality and performance.

The appeal of this budget-priced snapshot camera is diminished by its lack of an optical zoom.

Olympus D-395 / C-160

The Olympus D-395(US) (also known as the Olympus C-160 in Europe) is a 3.2 megapixel camera with a 33mm-equivalent fixed focal-length lens. This entry level digital camera has a 1.5 inch LCD, built in flash, xD card storage and a variety of exposure...

The D-395 has an f2.8, 33mm (in 35mm equivalent) auto focus Olympus all-glass lens with 2.5x digital zoom to capture amazingly sharp details and vibrant colors. Viewing settings and composing or reviewing shots is trouble-free, as the camera's...

Consumer review (epinions.com)

It is frustratingly slow, but it works well

Three years ago, my wife and I decided that we needed a new camera to document the upcoming birth of our son. Having used Olympus digital cameras before when I worked for a small weekly newspaper, I had been impressed by how good they were. That sealed...

Good picture quality, low price, ease of use

Ridiculously slow between pictures, devours batteries

Consumer review (epinions.com)

Not very good of a camera, but okay.

I have this camera and to tell you the truth, I am not impressed with it. First of all, the lag is really bad - about 14-15 seconds between shots in mode HQ 2048x1536 (I timed it). It drains batteries. I have Duracell Rechargeable 2300mAH AA/HR6/DC1500...

Easy to connect to the computer for easy downloading

Lag about 15 seconds in between shots in HQ 2048x1536 (default) quality

Great camera for casual use

Easy to hold, good features, nice menus, takes good pictures.

Prone to jitter, shutter lag, eats battery when off.

Bad

good quality photos, but you cant play around too long with looking at the photos taken, the power will just dissapear on you. i guess you get what you pay for.

price

i have to agree with the last reviewer, power is quickly sucked out of this little camera. its a pain having to change over batteries all the time.
