Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II review

A great system camera for beginners and pros alike

Nimble build ; Great photos ; Well-priced

Not for selfie fans ; Not ideal for one-handed use

Small, powerful and available for a thoroughly reasonable price, this Olympus is an absolute steal

Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II review

Olympus' most affordable and popular OM-D mirrorless camera gets a tasty refresh

Small size ; Excellent EVF ; Versatile and lots of customisation options

Comparatively small sensor ; 4K timelapse at 5fps playback ; Tilting rather than vari-angle screen

The OM-D E-M10 II embodies what the Olympus OM-D series is all about; it's a high quality camera that feels great, offers an extensive feature set with bags of control and produces superb quality images yet doesn't take up much space in your bag.

Olympus OM-D E-M10 II review

Olympus' E-M10 II is the perfect starter camera for going mirrorless, or a worthwhile upgrade.

Quality 16MP stills with pleasing colors ; Compact, lightweight ; Very responsive ; Built-in 5-axis image stabilization

Noisy shutter mechanism ; No 4K video

We can easily recommend the E-M10 II for those looking to make the move to an affordable ILC or those with older cameras looking to upgrade. For only $50 more, spring for the kit lens version if this is your first Olympus ILC. It may not have every...

Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II

The OM-D E-M10 Mark II is another solid mirrorless camera from Olympus thanks to 5-axis stabilization and a great EVF, but it's missing 4K video.

Compact, but comfortable to use. Large, sharp EVF. Tilting touch-screen display. 8.6fps continuous shooting. Built-in flash. 5-axis stabilization system. Wi-Fi.

Accurate tracking requires slower burst rate. Wacky power switch. No mic input.

Conclusions The Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II is another solid entry in the OM-D line, and a fine choice for Micro Four Thirds devotees and others searching for a mirrorless camera. Its strengths include a large, sharp EVF, an excellent Wi-Fi...

Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II (Body only, Black)

The camera's currently priced at $750 (£650, AU$1,000) for the kit with the 14-42mm power zoom lens, though I expect that to drop as it gets a little older. At this price, it's on the expensive side relative to competitors.

The OM-D E-M10 Mark II offers some unique but useful features in a smaller-than-a-dSLR design.

The grip could be bigger and its continuous shooting can't keep up with the competition. Plus, you really need to read the manual unless you're running on full auto.

Attractive and compact, with a broad feature set, solid kids-and-vacation performance and nice photos, the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II is a good choice for photographers on a budget who like to fiddle.

Bang for the Buck: Olympus OM-D E-M10 II Review

The Olympus OM-D E-M10 II is the next evolution of an already impressive camera. The E-M10 II introduces 5-axis stabilization to the entry-level OM-D line, while it maintains the 16.1MP Live MOS sensor and TruePic VII engine of its predecessor. A...
