Olympus VR-340

Panasonic DMC FS3581/100

Long zoom, value for money

Pictures can be a little dull

The Olympus VR-340 may not be the most advanced digital camera, but you get a lot of zoom for your money. Picture quality is good for a camera in this price bracket and the longer lens gives you scope to cover most standard photo opportunities. It also...

Olympus VR-340

The modestly priced, solidly built Olympus VR-340 is not without its drawbacks, but is quite capable when used in the right lighting situations.

Inexpensive. 10x zoom range. 24mm wide-angle lens. Big, sharp LCD. Solid build quality. Image stabilization.

Lengthy shutter lag. Detail loss at higher ISO settings. Video limited to 720p.

Performance and Conclusions The VR-340 lags behind other compacts in terms of speed. It requires 2.1 seconds to start and shoot, makes you wait 0.6-second between photos, and records a lengthy 0.5-second shutter lag. These delays make it all too...

Olympus VR-350 Review

Premium travel zoom digital cameras don't compromise on any feature and perform incredibly well. You get full manual control, excellent zoom range, full HD video recording, plenty of effect filters and scene presets, pristine imaging quality and rugged...

Since the camera is slim and the portion of the body available for grip is too limited, one-handed shooting isn’t recommended. The grip doesn’t feel too comfortable, especially if you have large hands. Hence, it would be wise to keep the wrist strap...

Digital Camera Review: Olympus VR-340

A stand out among budget cameras, the MP VR-340 boasts a metal body and a higher optical zoom than most in this price range. It takes reasonably sharp and color-rich images and 720p HD video both up close (with Macro mode) and far away, thanks to the...

Olympus VR-350 Digital Camera Review

The Olympus VR-350 overall packs a slightly bigger punch than both its tiny weight (170g) and price tag might suggest. It hosts a 16mp sensor that shoots both stills and video, has a long list of selectable scene and ‘magic’ modes and offers a good...
