Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX100

When one manufacturer makes a 12-megapixel compact camera, everyone else has to make one too.

Panasonic Lumix FX100 review

Is this the perfect compact from Panasonic?

Excellent build, and a great lens ; Good image quality, with little noise

Small buttons ; Feature set could be better

You might have thought the megapixel war was over but Panasonic has reignited it with the FX100. This is more than just a muscle-flexing exercise, though, as the image quality is superb. But for photographers who do want this level of resolution the...

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX100 12Mp compact camera

A new contender in the bantamweight division of the digicam market, Panasonic's Lumix DMC-FX100 packs a lot of power into a compact package that's easy to carry and use.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX100 is streamlined enough not to baffle novice users, but even seasoned shutterbugs ought to consider this is as a backup to their SLR or DSLR. Especially as a vacation take-along, this lightweight camera will produce...

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX100 review

Panasonic's nicely designed, elegantly styled Lumix DMC-FX100 is a near-twin to the Lumix DMC-FX55, though it records images at 12.2 megapixels versus the DMC-FX55's 8.1 megapixels.

A trendy 12 mega pixel sensor, lets see what it can do...

A decent compact with some advanced and attractive features, but image quality needs some fine tuning.

Panasonic DMC FX100

The Panasonic DMC FX100 is a very good, smaller compact digital camera. It takes decent photos in most situations. It is also very strong when it comes to ease of use. With 12 megapixels you should have no problem producing large prints.

Overall picture quality - settings for 6 x 4 prints and panoramic shots - image stabilisation - LCD screen display - ease of use

Small internal memory - flash needed for lowlight shots

"The Panasonic DMC FX100 is well worth taking a close look at if you are interested in a tidy, compact digital camera that takes a good photo. It is an unfussy camera and scores highly for ease of use. It has one or two extra features you do not always...

Panasonic Lumix FX100

We've all seen a story about a guy who has spent the last five years in his garage squashing the engine from a fighter jet into a Mini. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX100 is a bit like that. Under its hood you'll find a pumping 12MP sensor

Excellent build, and a great lens, Good image quality, with little noise

Small buttons, Feature set could be better

Panasonic DMC-FX100

With a mighty 12Mp resolution packed into a compact body, the new camera from Panasonic is the exact opposite of Duncan Evans but he takes a look anyway.

Massive 12Mp resolution; 28mm wide angle lens; Small and stylish; Good build quality; Metering works well; Nice colour rendition; Excellent scene modes

No AP or SP modes

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX100

This Panasonic offers 12 megapixels, but do the extra pixels count with the FX100?

Mega OIS lens stabilisation, Build, Design, New ‘easy zoom

Pricey for ‘point and shoot', Colours sometimes a little drab

With so many pixels, image noise was our biggest worry, but Panasonic has overcome this. As a result, the great image quality and gorgeous design make the FX100 another winning camera in the Lumix line-up
