Compact camera with a handy touch screen

The DMC-FX520 is an advanced camera that takes rich, clear photos and has the additional option of manual focusing using the touch screen. It's pricey, but you get plenty of advanced features for the price.

Touch screen, great focusing system, quality zoom lens

Complicated joystick interface, expensive

Besides the start-up time and stylus, it is hard to find fault with the FX520. Image quality has also improved and we really like the features that are incorporated with the touchscreen.

Stylish design ; Intuitive 3-inch touchscreen ; Manual exposure control ; 25mm ultra-wide-angle lens ; Improved image quality

Slow start-up time ; Oddly shaped stylus ; Face detection didn't recognise faces with spectacles

The FX520 exceeded our expectations in terms of image quality and features. In the field of touchscreen shooters that was previously dominated by Sony, Panasonic has developed a shooter that can appease even advanced photographers.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX520 - A New Touch

If one were to consider a good all-round digital camera, Panasonic's Lumix DMC-FX520 has a strong proposition to vie for this category. Designed to be first and foremost an easy and intuitive camera, the addition of its hybrid navigation interface via...

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX520

Really easy to use, great pictures, fits into a pocket. I've recently been on several tours and been able to compare the pictures my FX 520 takes with almost every other major brand (sony, olympus, nikkon, cannon etc) and in every instance, the pics...

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX520

I've had mine almost a year and have taken thousands of pictures. Overall I could not be happier. It's low light shooting could be better but for an ultra-compact it's not bad at all. It's not a video camera but it does shoot 720P okay. Wish it was...

Good image quality, lots of manual control, small nice screen

More noise than I'd like

I've just purchased a FX520 for it's great reviews, but it disappointed me to learn that of all the great features a camera could have, it cannot zoom during video recording!

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX520

I purchased one in May 2008 and it has been a complete disaster. I previously had a FX50 for 12 months and I was delighted with it. I bought this because of the upgraded specs and the CNet review. I have now taken 1000 photos and they are all very...

In theory, very good specifications

Very inferior photos to my previous FX50. Also screen only half as bright and inadequate in strong light
