Panasonic Lumix SZ5 Review

The Panasonic Lumix SZ5 is Panasonic's latest compact camera with built in Wi-Fi, this time however, the Wi-Fi is designed to connect to any wireless device. Joshua Waller reviews it to find out how it performs.

Compact metal bodied camera; Good 10x optical zoom lens; Quick focusing; Easy to use (apart from the Wi-Fi); Good image quality and colour

Awkward Wi-Fi connections / problems with logon / PC still needed at times

Panasonic SZ5 review

The SZ5 offers Wi-Fi connectivity and technology in a compact package. The question is - how does it perform on the whole?

Wi-Fi functionality; Slim body; Respectable zoom

720p video capture; Low-spec screen; Lack of advanced functionality

There's a lot to like in the Panasonic SZ5, with some impressive features. It offers full Wi-Fi connectivity in a small package, and is a pleasure to use. It's only really let down by some image quality issues and some entry-level elements of its...

Panasonic Lumix SZ5 adds Wi-Fi to basic 10x ultracompact cam

Panasonic tests the Wi-Fi camera waters -- again -- by putting it in an uninteresting camera.

Panasonic LUMIX DMC-SZ5 Review

This point-and-shoot is basic in almost every aspect except its WiFi features. Image quality is disappointing, features are few, and low-light shooting capability is minimal. But if sharing and smart phone integration is a must-have, and your budget is...

Slim body ; Optical image stabilization ; 25mm wide-angle Leica lens ; WiFi uploading and smart phone integration ; Upload to social networks via WiFi ; HD video (1280x720) recorded in MP4

Overall image quality is sub par ; Photos taken in low light w/o flash look noisy and blurry ; Zoom is a modest 10X ; No thumb wheel to ease navigation ; No creative filters ; Battery life could be better

This point-and-shoot is basic in almost every aspect except its WiFi features. Image quality is disappointing, features are few, and low-light shooting capability is minimal. But if sharing and smart phone integration is a must-have, and your budget is...

Panasonic Lumix DMC-SZ5

Because of its delightfully designed shell, we really wanted to love the Panasonic Lumix DMC-SZ5. Unfortunately, its outward beauty meant that compromises had to be made elsewhere, such as the low-res screen and poor video resolution.

Lovely, high-class body ; Wi-Fi and DLNA at a low price

We'd happily trade Wi-Fi and DLNA for a high-res screen and 1080i video

Panasonic Lumix DMC-SZ5 Review

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-SZ5 is a slim, metal-built digital compact camera with a 10x 25-250mm optical zoom, 14 megapixel resolution, 720p HD video recording and wifi connection that allows remote shooting via your smartphone, wireless playback on a TV,...

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-SZ5 is one of those digital cameras that delivers exactly what you'd expect it to. We expected a camera that was easy to use and the menu has been arranged to make it that way - more so than other cameras at this price point....

Panasonic Lumix DMC-SZ5

The truly diminutive SZ5 is a 10x optical zoom compact with a number of features keenly tuned to wireless. Panasonic obviously thought hard about how to compete with the rise of the cell phone camera and decided instead to provide a product that...
