Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZR1 review

Panasonic's Lumix range of digital cameras is well known for their Leica lens that usually help in capturing above-average image quality. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZR1 is a compact digital camera that is powerful enough to let you capture decent looking...

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZR1 review

It's always nice when a camera fulfills its promise. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZR1's unassuming outer shell doesn't stray from the company's other compact megazoom cameras, but what's inside does with a re-engineered autofocus system, an ultracompact,...

Simple to use; nice design; excellent performance, photo quality.

No AV output cable included; no shutter speed, aperture controls.

With a wide-angle, megazoom lens, a quick AF system, and generally high-quality snapshot photos, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZR1 is a standout compact megazoom.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZX1 review

The 12.1Mp Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZX1 has some great but not mind-blowing specs. This isn't a camera that tries to outdo anything in stores today, but it's a well-balanced, meat-and-potatoes model that does several things well.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZX1 won't bowl you over with fancy looks or features, but it's a rock-solid, affordable camera that offers a lot more than an entry-level shooter. Panasonic has hand-selected the features and specs that nicely split the...

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZX1

Boasting a 25mm angle 8x optical lens we discover if the new Panasonic ZX compact's bite is as big as its bark

On the whole a rather average performer producing a barely adequate level of quality. However the healthy focal range, abundance of scene modes and the ability to exercise a modest level of manual control justify it's rather ambitious price tag…just.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZX1

Panasonic's Lumix ZX1 is the size of a standard skinny compact at just 26mm, but it packs in some impressive specs including an 8x zoom, 12.1 megapixels and 720p video shooting and some super-swanky Leica elements. The good The Panasonic Lumix is the...

Panasonic gets top marks for cramming unlikely amounts of tech and a solid performance into a tiny body. If size matters but you still want a decent zoom range, it's about as good as you'll find. Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZX1 is tagged with Panasonic Lumix...

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZX1 review

For a compromise between size and zoom range you won't find better than the ZX1

Great zoom range for such a small camera, and it doesn't come at the cost of quality

Nothing specific, but how about a touchscreen next time Panasonic

Panasonic DMC ZX1

This is a good all round snapshot digital camera. It produces good photos in most situations and the extra zoom should come in handy. Shutter lag and turn on times are extremely impressive.

Picture quality - simple design - value for money - turn on time - shutter delay time

There is nothing that springs to mind as a serious weakness

The Panasonic Lumix DMC ZX1 does the job it sets out to do very well. The turn on and shutter lag times are very impressive. The camera takes a good picture in most situations and there are one or two extra features thrown in such as High Definition...

Panasonic ZR1 / ZX1 Review

Image quality is very good at base ISO 80, with very low noise and good image detail. Image quality is good up to ISO 400 but, as is common with all consumer digicams, tends to suffer from noise and loss of detail at higher ISOs.

Compact size, 8x zoom

low-res scene modes

The ZX1 is a really nice camera to use; it feels solid and well built, and yet is small enough to easily slip into your pocket. Images are bright and punchy with impressive detail even at the full extension of the lens. On closer inspection, however,...
