Panasonic Lumix TZ30

If you're looking for a small compact with a big zoom, the TZ30 could be an ideal choice.

Huge zoom range offers great flexibility ; AF speed is some of the fastest yet seen in a compact ; Easy to use and feels well built ; Built-in digital filters and a one-touch panorama mode ; Generous range of Full HD movie recording options

Still no ability to capture lossles Raw image files ; Choice of Full HD movie recording options can be confusing ; Battery performance still isn't great - especially with GPS on

Panasonic Lumix TZ30 review

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ30 is the brand's latest travel zoom compact

Manual and auto controls ; Compact but comfy grip ; Packed with features

Small function icons on screen ; Quite pricey ; Not a huge step-up from TZ20

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ30

The Panasonic Lumix TZ30 – or Lumix ZS20 as it's known Stateside – is the latest high-spec, high-zoom compact to join the Lumix range. What's not to like? The TZ30 has taken everything that made the TZ20 good and made it one step better. As follow-ups...

20x optical zoom; excellent image stabilisation; very fast autofocus

Battery life okay at best, GPS eats battery life, image quality good but not exceptional

What’s not to like? The TZ30 has taken everything that made the TZ20 good and made it one step better. As follow-ups go they don’t come much better. However, battery life could be longer and image quality could be improved further – though that’s...

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ30 review

A luxury 14MP travel compact with a 20x Leica lens and GPS

Massive zoom range ; Extensive features ; Decent touchscreen ; Build quality

No raw capture ; Battery life ; Noise suppression at mid to high ISOs

Panasonic's flagship TZ camera series has always been about squeezing a big zoom into a small body. And the Panasonic TZ30 pushes the boat out.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS20 review

For a pocketable camera, the 14-megapixel Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS20 is about as loaded as they come. The trait that will jump out at you - literally, if you're facing the pocket camera - is the Lumix ZS20's 20X-optical-zoom lens (24mm to 480mm). Like...

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS20 certainly doesn't skimp on features, and it's designed with the demanding traveler in mind. You'll find better overall image quality in other cameras, but the ZS20's range of shooting options is second to none in its class....

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ30 review

It's a camera that's small and easy to fit into a pants pocket, yet its lens can capture images from a wide angle of 24mm, all the way up to a telephoto angle of 480mm. If you're on a tourist beat, this means you can potentially take a photo of a...

The Lumix DMC-TZ30 is a fine compact camera with a big zoom lens and a good quality sensor. It can be used in almost all manner of situations, even for video recording, and it's perfect for travellers because it's so easy to carry.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ30 review

Panasonic invented the pocket-sized ultra-zoom camera with its TZ series, but last year's Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ20 was outgunned by rival cameras offering bigger zooms and better image quality, especially in low light. This year's TZ30 appears on the...

Beaten for image quality in low light, but in almost every other respect this is the best pocket-sized ultra-zoom camera available

Panasonic LUMIX DMC-ZS20 review

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS20 is a pretty remarkable point-and-shoot camera. Its Leica lens starts off at an ultrawide-angle 24mm and zooms in to 480mm. That's an incredible range for a lens in a body that's just 1.1 inches thick. That's actually...

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS20 has an excellent design and feature set, including an ultrawide-angle 20x zoom lens, GPS, and semimanual and manual shooting modes, as well as fast shooting performance and improved low-light photo quality from previous...

Using all of the ZS20's high-performance features, such as its near-pointless touch screen, can really cut into battery life. Also, photos are noisy and soft when viewed at 100 percent.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS20's 20x zoom lens might be the main attraction, but the camera is all-around excellent.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ30 review

If the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ30 were scored on features alone, it would get top marks. It is also quick and easy to use, covers an extensive focal range and has a host of neat shooting modes.Image quality is not quite as crisp as that of the Panasonic...

Panasonic Lumix TZ30

A small digital camera from a company that does a whole raft of electrical items which naturally include cameras. This is perhaps one of their smallest as they also do a range of DSLR units apart from the pocket Lumix range.

The Panasonic Lumix TZ30 measures 10x6x2.5cm and weights 206grams. Almost anyone of a ‘certain age’ will have heard of Leica lens and Panasonic still use them. This small unit has a 24mm wide capture ability 20x optical zoom and takes a 14MP image. The...
