Pentax Optio A10

The Pentax Optio A10 is an attractive pocket sized digital camera. This camera has a fairly standard set of features with eight megapixels and a 3x zoom lens. At the time it was introduced the eight megapixels give it a bit more power than many...

Easy to use ; No red eye in test shot ; Good build quality

Shutter lag ; Little room on the back of the camera

"The Pentax Optio A10 is an eight megapixel digital camera with a three times optical zoom lens. It is small enough to fit into a pocket and has a simple, attractive design."

Pentax Optio A10

The Optio A series are so good they make us forget the S series even existed. The A10 is a well made, user friendly camera that produces great images. Colour reproduction is excellent, as are the detail levels. Some quirks when using it and a tendency...

Review: Pentax Optio A10

The Pentax A10 is the flagship model of Pentax's Optio brand of cameras, attempting to mix function and style in a photographer friendly camera. We see how it frames up...

Green button menu, anti-shake, button layout on the back

Jerkiness of digital zoom, battery life, noise

Despite a few flaws in the camera's responsiveness when taking photos, the A10 definitely lives up to its role as the flagship Pentax compact. It's a very satisfying camera to use, especially with the multi-function Green menu. Images may be a bit...

Digital Camera Review is doing what doing what they do, and have a review up of Pentax's headline Optio, the 8 megapixel A10. Including a 3x optical zoom, 2.5-inch LCD, and optical image stabilisation, the camera looks to be a decent deal for it's...

Pentax Optio A10 review

Pentax Optio A10 Pentax's Optio A10 boasts some impressive specs, including 8-megapixel resolution, sensor-shifting shake reduction, ISO 800 sensitivity, and a high-resolution 232,000-pixel 2.5-inch LCD. As you might expect, the camera produces decent...

Ultracompact, excellent macro capabilities, easy-access controls.

LCD washes out in bright light, noisy images when shooting at more than ISO 200.

Its LCD has issues outdoors and in burst mode, but this ultracompact 8-megapixel Pentax Optio A10 for the snapshooting set is easy to operate and versatile.

Pentax Optio A10 Review

The new 'flagship' in Pentax's long-running Optio range was announced at the CES show in January. The basic specification is fairly standard for a camera in this class; 3x optical zoom, 8 megapixels, 15 scene modes (including a high sensitivity / ISO...

Excellent resolution, natural accurate color, subtle processing Low noise at low ISO settings Better than average detail retention at higher ISOs Usable (at a pinch) ISO 800 Candlelight mode Excellent all-metal construction Good white balance Good...

Slow focus, shutter lag Slow flash recycling Shake Reduction not as reliable as some competitors Annoying unresponsive, jerky zoom mechanism Screen impossible to see in bright light, no optical viewfinder No manual controls over apertures and shutter...

The Optio A10 is a deeply frustrating camera for a reviewer; on the one hand it is capable of producing some of the best results in its class, the lens is obviously excellent, image processing is fairly subtle, and unlike so many similar cameras the...
