Pentax Q10 review

The Pentax retro-styled compact system camera actually fits in a pocket

Intuitive to use ; Reasonable price ; Nicely portable

Small sensor ; Lacks definition ; Average built-in stabiliser

BlackBerry Q10 review

Is the keyboard the key to BB 10 success?

Full physical keyboard ; Impressive web speeds ; Updated BB10 ; Decent battery life

Odd screen size ; Lack of apps ; Very expensive ; Not great for games/movies

Without doubt the BlackBerry Q10 is the best QWERTY keyboard smartphone on the market. It's also arguably one of the most expensive keyboards on the planet, with little in the way of stand out features to justify its cost. You'll get more for your...

Pentax Q10 review

The world's smallest, lightest CSC

Reasonable price ; Compact size ; Good build ; Accepts interchangeable lenses ; Novel built-in flash

No dedicated video button ; Heavy-handed noise reduction ; Some controls are fiddly

The Pentax Q10 is the second in the Q series of compact system cameras (CSCs) that offer the flexibility of interchangeable lenses with a camera that is no bigger or heavier than many high-end compact cameras.

Pentax Q10

The Pentax Q10 is probably the smallest removable lens camera I have ever reviewed. It is smaller than most digital cameras but is still a very powerful unit that gives rather good JPG or an option to save your images in RAW format.

The Q10 measures 10x5.5x8.5cm the latter with the lens fully in, fully extended add another 2cm. It weights only 300 grams without attaching the near superfluous neck strap. It is capable of capturing a 12MP image. The lens supplied is a 5-15mm...

Pentax Q10 review: Truly compact camera

2nd generation of credit card sized Compact System Camera

Compact dimensions and a fairly solid construction in spite of them, classic retro styling, broad range of built in digital effects make this a fun camera to use

The sensor at the Q10’s heart is no larger than that of a £100-£200 snapshot and unless deploying digital filters image quality straight from the camera is little better than that of a snapshot in most shooting situations

What we found most fun about the Pentax was the ability to select on-board Lomo camera-like digital effects at the point of capture by turning a customisable dial on the Q10’s faceplate. There are 19 to choose from in total, with 11 applied at the time...

Pentax Q10 Review

Overall, while the Pentax Q10 has its control-to-size ratio to recommend it, and a number of positive aspects with its design, it's sorely let down by inconsistent and often lacklustre image quality. Its appeal is confusing when, for around the same...

which was released last year. It has a 12.4 megapixel sensor and is available in black, silver or red for £379.00 with a 5-15mm lens, or £539.00 with the 15-45mm lens supplied as well.

Full 1080p HD video recording, Extremely small interchangeable lens camera, Well-built body, Good size screen, Full manual controls and RAW shooting

Battery life CIPA rating is quite low, Chroma noise kicks in at ISO 1600, AWB struggles under the studio lights

Pentax Q10 review

The Pentax Q10 features DSLR controls and arrives with a range of fun and functional lenses. It stands out from its CSC peers, but is that necessarily a good thing? Find out in our full Pentax Q10...

Light weight; Plenty of physical controls; Decent flash performance

Some fiddly controls; Image quality; AF could be faster
