Ricoh CX2

Is in-camera HDR the next big thing? Ricoh certainly thinks so.

The Ricoh CX2 is a very accomplished camera from one of the veteran names in the industry. It combines excellent build quality, a versatile specification, class-leading performance and superb image quality with a range of innovative features and...

Ricoh CX2 digital camera

The Ricoh CX2 is basically the same as the CX1, it looks stylish and is undoubtedly well made; once again we had the black liveried version to test, though silver and a two-tone version with a coloured top plate are available. A simple control layout...

LCD, low ISO image quality, easy to use, features, build, auto level indication

No optical viewfinder, high ISO image noise, longer zoom creates camera shake issues

The CX2 is, well, just the like the CX1 – only more so. A relatively minor update might furrow some brows as to why the CX1 needed replacing so soon. The longer focal lengths are (arguably) more useful, but the flip side is problems with camera shake...

Ricoh CX2 review

With its breakneck performance, fantastic screen and big zoom, this is almost a superb camera, but lens sharpness lets it down.

Ricoh CX2 review

It's perfect for anyone with a penchant for travelling: the Ricoh CX2 will let you take wide-angle shots of famous landmarks, and can also snap a close-up of a bird perched atop a distant statue and capture fine details, for example.

Despite some issues with noise, the Ricoh CX2 is an admirable compact camera. It has a huge 300mm lens, captures vibrant and sharp images, has useful scene modes, and is reasonably priced. Put it on your shopping list if you want a point-and-shoot...

Ricoh CX2

The follow up to the highly acclaimed CX1

Whether you buy the CX1 or CX2 they are both fantastic compacts however if you want the extra zoom and can keep a steady hand than choose the latter.

Ricoh CX2

The Ricoh CX2 is a 9 megapixel digital camera, with a CMOS sensor, high speed shooting, a wide angle 10.7x optical zoom lens and a compact body - read our review to find out more.

Great image quality ; Low noise for a compact camera ; Dynamic range mode useful for static / landscape shots ; High speed shoting - 5fps! better than some DSLRs ; Great wide angle 10.7x optical zoom lens ;...

The Ricoh CX2 improves on the CX1 with quicker 5fps shooting, an improved 10.7x optical zoom lens, new scene modes, new focus mode, and snap focus. With 5fps shooting at full resolution the camera can shoot quicker than most...

Ricoh CX2

Well-made and looks classy, but lacks features we'd expect to find in this price range.

It is somewhat puzzling as to why Ricoh has rushed out the CX2. Is it a sign of a lack of confidence in the CX1 or was the company keen to unveil its latest technology to the public? If it’s the latter, then there’s very little on show. In the time...

Ricoh - CX2

It's hard to believe that it's only six months ago that Ricoh brought out its stylish CX1 compact digital camera and already the company has produced a successor with a range of new and improved features. ...

Unfortunately for those who've only just bought the CX1, Ricoh has now expanded the telephoto reach of the CX2, thrown in a few funky scene modes and improved AF capabilities. But, alas, there's no improvement in video mode.

Ricoh CX2 review

A great camera for your travels, if too big for everyday use

Mad optical zoom talent

A bit bulky for a compact, no HD video
