Sony A6600 review

Sony's top-line APS-C mirrorless camera boasts many great features for the enthusiast photographer

Fantastic autofocusing ; Superior battery life ; Good Sony ecosystem boasting lots of lenses and accessories

Body design could be better ; Limited touchscreen functionality ; Sensor smaller than full-frame

There’s a lot of great features in this all-round model from Sony. It’s packed with fantastic technology which enables you to capture subjects in a variety of different scenarios. However, the body design lacks imagination and can even be frustrating...

Sony A6600 review

Sony's flagship APS-C mirrorless camera brings great autofocus and battery life, but falls short of rivals in other areas.

Excellent tracking mode (with some limitations) Wide range of compatible lenses Fantastic battery life

Awkward controls Convoluted menu system Touchscreen control still limited Single UHS-I card slot Small preview area on screen

On paper, the a6600 should be the APS-C camera to beat, with a top-performing sensor and a range of features that will appeal to a broad swath of photographers. However, Sony has resolutely stuck with a form factor that’s not as comfortable as rival...

Sony A6600 review: A sublime little mirrorless camera

The most powerful A6000 series mirrorless camera to date. If you're after a compact, premium camera with all the bells and whistles, is this the one?

Real-time tracking and AF is fast and accurate ; In-body stabilisation ; 4K HDR video capture ; Longer battery life

Flip up screen design isn't great ; No 4K60p (but there is 30p) ; Quite pricey ; Many of the features available on the A6400

If what you're after is as much power as you can get in a small package, Sony's A6600 is a very tempting offering.

Sony A6600 review: Good but not quite Canon

A super fun, super quality camera with super battery life – but not a camera that wins our unqualified approval

Great stills performance and quality ; Well made ; Superb battery life

Faces stark competition for video ; Buttons could be easier to hit

The A6600 is a dream to use. Comfortable, fast and mounted with a good number of body controls; this is a camera that experienced photographers will get to grips with in no time. We love the viewfinder and its balance, as well as its build quality and,...

As the latest crop-sensor camera from Sony, the Alpha 6600 is highly capable as its autofocusing system is arguably the best in the market right.

Sony Alpha A6600 (ILCE-6600) Review

We review the Sony Alpha A6600 - Sony's flagship 24mp APS-C mirrorless camera. It features 4K video recording, 5-axis image stabilisation, high-speed focus, and extended battery life.

Whilst there are numerous things we'd like to see improved with the Sony Alpha A6600, we can't ignore the excellent photo and video quality, as well as the impressive battery life, thanks to the use of the Z series battery.

Sony A6600 review: A rare misstep for Sony's cameras

As Sony's new flagship APS-C camera, the 24.2-megapixel A6600 has a lot to live up to. Its predecessor, the A6500, broke new ground, and the full-frame A7 series are the best mirrorless cameras on the market. The A6600 does have some nice features like...

Excellent battery life ; Class-leading autofocus ; In-body stabilization ; Good low-light performance

Bad rolling shutter ; Mediocre 4K capability ; Poor handling ; Single slow memory card slot

Given Sony's technical leadership in the camera industry, the release of the A6600 is a head-scratcher. If you were looking for a mirrorless APS-C camera three years ago, the A6500 was the best option, hands down. Now? I'm not so sure.
