Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-H50 review

The H50 has a slightly lower megapixel rating than its competitors, but also provides the biggest screen, measuring three inches across the diagonal.

Miss. Some good features, but no manual focus and poor image quality.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H50 review

Sony's new Cyber-shot DSC-H50 has some outstanding features. But it also has a few kinks that may or may not hang you up, depending on how picky you are about certain functions.

Overall, we did like the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H50, especially the 15X lens and the tilting LCD. Eliminate the glitches (or ignore them), and you have a fierce little camera for a reasonable price.

Sony Cyber-Shot DSC H50

This is a rather nice camera. It takes great still images and good movies. It is not a pocket camera and not a large (DSLR size) unit. Therefore my only doubt is where in the market it will fit, the other slight problem is that it stores images on MS...

The Sony Cyber-Shot DSC H50 is 11x9x8cm, the middle figure can increase by 3.5cm when the lens is fully extended. It weights 440grams, this again makes it an in between unit, it comes with two fairly substantial anchor points for the supplied neck...

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H50 review

Its Carl Zeiss telephoto lens and manual features are strong, but the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H50's focus-lock is erratic, and startup is slow.

Overall, we did like the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H50, especially the 15X lens and the tilting LCD. Eliminate the glitches (or ignore them), and you have a fierce little camera for a reasonable price.

Sony DSC H50

The Sony DSC H50 is a super zoom digital camera with a number of advanced features. It scored well in my tests and the combination of a 15x optical zoom lens and manual exposure controls is likely to be attractive to anyone who enjoys photography.

Ease of use - shutter lag times - overall picture quality

Purple fringing

Overall I was impressed by this camera. Picture quality is good and although the camera has a number of advanced features Sony have been able to make the camera as easy to use as possible. When it comes to shutter lag this is one of the fastest cameras...

Sony Cybershot DSC-H50

The Cybershot H50 from Sony may have a sleek and stylish look on first glance, but recent price crashes and cash-back offers on budget D-SLRs make it only £60 cheaper than the DP Silver Award-winning Sony Alpha 200.
