Sony DSC-S90

Very good image quality outdoors.2.5 inch LCD monitor is very practical.Manual mode.Shutter speed range that allows for long exposures.

Flash too weak for telephoto's maximum aperture.Compression occasionally too strong with certain subjects.

Sony - DSC-S90

It's tricky to decide whether the Sony DSC-S90 is a budget digital camera or a mid-range model. The specification is relatively lowly with a 4.1-megapixel sensor that results in photos with a maximum resolution of 2,304 ...

No doubt Sony thinks that a £155 camera is positively cheap, and the DSC-S90 feels as though the company has specified a relatively basic camera which it has then built to a high quality. There's nothing cheap and nasty about this camera but it's...

Sony DSC S90

Sony DSC S90 Review. This camera is a bit different. Although it is primarily a point and shoot digital camera it does also have some limited manual exposure controls. All available at a low price.

Picture quality ; Good indoor shots ; Fast acting - low shutter lag times ; Large LCD screen ; Ease of use

Rather heavyweight

"More expensive than other standard four megapixel digital cameras. The price tag is justified though by the picture qaulity it delivers, plus very low shutter lag times. Well worth considering."

Sony DSC-S90

Sony's camera is one of the beefier models but makes the most of it with a big LCD screen. It can take photos up to 4.1 megapixels...

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S90

Great manual options, nice pictures, big screen

Quite large and bulky

A good camera that does many things very well. It is let down a little by its design and the fact that it costs about the same as many higher resolution models.

Sony Cyber Shot DSC-S review: Sony Cyber Shot DSC-S

Compact design; fast response times; two continuous-shooting modes; strong battery life.

Small LCD screen; limited manual settings; photos exhibit a slight softness; wrist-strap hook gets in the way.

Less expensive than the flagship Cyber Shot DSC-S90 but sharing many of its features and capabilities, the entry-level Sony Cyber Shot DSC-S40 provides a good value in a point-and-shoot camera.

Sony Cybershot DSC-S90 Digital Camera Camera

Sony's $300 4.1-megapixel Cyber-shot DSC-S90 is a well-priced point-and-shoot camera that offers many of the features found on its higher-priced sibling, the 7.2-megapixel Cyber-shot DSC-W7.

In burst mode, the S90 can take four successive shots at fine resolution, or 30 shots at VGA resolution. By comparison, at VGA resolution the Cyber-shot DSC-W7 can take 100 shots in burst mode. Perhaps most disappointing is the S90's limited shutter...

Sony Cyber-shot S90 Review

Despite some speculation when announced in February 2005, the S90 is not the successor to the highly-rated S85, but is one of two near-identical entry-level four million pixel cameras from Sony (the other being the S60; the main difference is that the...

After nine years of reviewing compact digital cameras it's sometimes surprising I can find anything new to say about them. But such has been the pace of development over the last few years that virtually every new model has at least
