This camera wins on the basis of the image it presents more than on the images it takes. It's stylish, handy and fun to use, but the pictures it takes are good, but not great.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T1

This slim 5-megapixel has a striking 2.5-inch LCD.

The Cyber-shot DSC-T1 packs a lot of functionality into its tiny case, and the 2.5-inch LCD will give other digital camera owners display envy. The photos aren't bad, either.

Sony Cyber Shot DSC-T1

This sleek and very thin Sony is good for on-the-go snapshots, but its photo quality is average.

Very thin and highly portable ; Excellent video specs ; Fast performance

Extremely weak flash ; No tripod mount ; No custom white balance

Unfortunately, photos tended to be fairly soft, a flaw exacerbated by significant compression and postprocessing artifacts. Our theory is that Sony got a little overenthusiastic with a blur filter in an effort to reduce noise and JPEG blocking...
