Sony DSC W110

The Sony DSC W110 is a handy, pocket size. It has 7 megapixels and a 4x optical zoom lens. Picture quality is good and the camera also scores well for ease of use. A viewfinder is included for composing photographs.

Ease of use - price tag - viewfinder

Sharpness softens towards the edges when photographing more distant subjects

"I like this camera. It is straightforward and effective. Sony have priced it at about the right level. If you are looking for a no fuss, pocket camera this one could well be worth a look."

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W110

Smile, or else

Easy to use, very small, smile shutter works... sometimes

Pictures look soft, needs a manual setting, no image stabilisation

The DSC-W110 is simple to use and perfect to take to parties, but it's a very automatic camera and its pictures tend to look soft.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W110

Sony's entry-level Cyber-shot DSC-W110 includes face detection, noise reduction and high ISO sensitivity up to ISO 3200.

Easy to navigate menu. Smile and face detection.

Blurry, laggy LCD.

If you're after a camera which represents ease and automation without compromising image quality then the DSC-W110 is great value for money. Just don't expect much in the way of features.

Sony CyberShot DSC-W110

Good handy size and ease of use in "point & shoot"-type mode Zoom a preview immediately after photo taken is good (This was my first digital camera - so these aspects are probably "standard"-type features now?). Itt's certainly a lot simpler than my...

Use at temperatures over 40 degrees centigrade is NOT recommended.(I've recently returned from a holiday in Uzbekistan, where it was often (unseasonably) hotter than this. The camera seemed to malfunction - though I might, in my inexperience, have been...
