Sony Cyber-shot W800 review

Sony's bargain Cyber-shot is big on features but light on your pocket

Reasonable performance in good light ; Some manual control ; Compact and lightweight ; Low price

Poor low light image quality ; Extremely soft panoramas ; Very limited LCD viewing angles ; Restricted zoom range

If you're after a simple point and shoot camera that'll slip easily into a pocket or bag and perform reliably, the W800 fits the bill. But if you pay just a little more you can get cameras with longer zooms and better quality.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W800 review

  (Rating Hidden)

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W800 is an entry-level point-and-shoot compact camera without many bells and whistles. It doesn't have the Exmor R sensor that more expensive Sony compacts do, nor wi-fi, and it's stuck with an unremarkable 5x zoom lens....

Sony Cyber-shot W800 Quick Review

We review the Sony Cyber-shot W800, the cheapest main brand digital camera currently available.

The Sony Cyber-shot W800 doesn’t offer any of the bells and whistles we’ve come to expect from cameras released in the last couple of years, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or NFC, however, at this price point that’s no real surprise. The camera provides...

Sony W800 Review

The Sony W800 follows the Sony W710 from 2013 and takes aim at the teenage crowd or anyone wanting an inexpensive option to keep with you at all times for casual, on-the-go shooting.

The Sony Cyber-shot W800 begins shipping in March 2014 for around US$80 and will come in black and white.

Nice little camera

Was looking for a low cost but capable little camera for a 3D Stereo picture project. I bought two. The 20 Mpixel option is insane (my old SLR is only 8Mp) but I find the 5 Mpixel returns stunning pictures and excellent prints without needing huge SD...

Lovely style ....but

The camera is acceptable but given its price it is a tad disappointing. Colours are too vibrant and menu is not simple to navigate. All this may improve after regular use
