Sony Mavica MVC-CD250

The review of this camera is now complete. Photos have been re-shot where needed, and all sample photos were taken with a production-level camera

Very good photo quality ; CD-R/RW format is excellent value ; Huge 2.5" LCD ; Great movie mode (can even use optical zoom) ; AF illuminator

No optical viewfinder ; Poor Mac compatibility ; Concerns about durability of CD-RW drive ; Sluggish read/write times, esp. in playback mode ; A very expensive 2MP camera

My final thoughts about the Sony Mavica MVC-CD250 is very similar to the floppy-based cameras that I've reviewed. If you're sold on the CD-R/RW format, then the CD250 is a great camera. It's got excellent photo quality, a good deal of controls, a very...

Overall, a great camera for what i paid.

Overall, Im quite happy with this camera. It does what I want a digital camera to do. That is to take massive amounts of pictures so that I can sort through them and keep the ones I want and delete the rest.I purely use CDRW discs, since my...

A comfortable way to go from SLR to digital.

Let's get this out up front. I am a die hard SLR 35mm camera user. I like the weight of the camera in my hands. The pictures they take. I was one of those people that laughed at digital camera users. I almost had a join a 12 step program. "Hello my...

A great alternative to an 35mm SLR camera.

May not be a great choice for people who are not camera buffs.

I still Happy though

I Bought mine on Dec 2002. On Jan 2003 Sony came out with the 350 for about the same price. Ashamed!!. Very easy to use, of course if you are one of those persons who need help with a computer, calculator, etc, then this camera is not for you....

I love this Camera!

I have only owned Sony digicams since i started taking digital pictures. Originally i had a FD-70, then i got a FD-88. In both cases i have enjoyed the quality/clarity of the Sony lens and the convenience of using a floppy to store the pictures. This...

Ease of use. Excellent lens. Cheap storage.

OK Camera, but not for family use that wants print quality photos

I was very exited to get this camera since I paid $500 for it. I was initially impressed with the array of photo sizes and options along with the video, though no good enough to put on tape, good enough to put on the web.

easy menu system, loads of storage and good choice of image formats, video with sound

CD errors resulting in lost photos, a bit bulky, long delay time between photos
