Toshiba HD-EP30 review

HD DVD stays ahead of the Blu-ray price curve

Low price ; Up to 1080p/24fps output ; Includes Ethernet LAN port

Lacks picture settings ; HDMI v1.2 not 1.3 ; No analogue multichannel audio output

With improved technology and a reduced price, Toshiba continues to make HD DVD an attractive proposition.

Considering Toshiba's original entry-level HD DVD player, the HD-E1, only launched towards the end of 2006 at a price of £450, it's remarkable that its direct replacement, the HD-EP30, is widely on sale for less than half as much

Lacks picture settings, HDMI v1.2 not 1.3, No analogue multichannel audio output

Very easy to use, set up was easy, all round a good player.

slow booting up, and slow loading HD DVD discs, HD is no longer the publics choice, Blu-ray is the way forward, oh well lets hope they keep making HD DVD's for a while longer

Great picture, great sound, looks nice, works well

HD DVD is now the definite loser in the Hi-Def disc stakes to Blu- Ray. My immaculate timing again !!
