Aliph Jawbone review

The Jawbone is a Bluetooth headset with a kick-ass design, military connections and remarkable noise-terminating technology

Not only is the Jawbone the coolest Bluetooth headset to grace a lughole, no hubbub will penetrate its shield and wreck your gabfest

Aliph Jawbone Icon review

We see so many Bluetooth headsets here at CNET that most of them seem the same after awhile. That's why we sit up and notice when a unique one comes along. Last year, for example, we were awed at the stellar audio quality of the Plantronics Discovery...

The Aliph Jawbone Icon comes in a variety of beautiful jewellike designs; it has a dedicated on/off switch; and it comes with several ear-fit options. It has many advanced features, including an iPhone battery meter, and is highly customizable with...

The Aliph Jawbone Icon doesn't have a manual volume rocker and the ear fit could be a bit more comfortable.

Not only is the Aliph Jawbone Icon attractive and affordable with great call quality, but it is also highly customizable with advanced features that make it the most innovative Bluetooth headset we've seen to date.

Aliph Jawbone Prime

The new Aliph Jawbone Prime makes priorities of both audio quality and comfort. This $130 model (as of April 23, 2009) upholds the high standards set by the previous Jawbone, but it goes to greater lengths to increase your comfort.

Impressive call quality and noise reduction ; Wear with or without ear loop

Pricey ; Limited Talk button tactile feedback

If you're in the market for a Bluetooth headset, Jawbone Prime sets the new standard for others to try to match. Aliph reports that consumers will be able to buy the Jawbone Prime starting May 2, 2009

Aliph Jawbone Prime

The Aliph Jawbone Prime adds excellent wind cancellation to an impressive Bluetooth headset.

Top-notch wind noise cancellation. Very good voice transmission quality. Stylish. More comfortable than its predecessor.

Low earpiece volume. Expensive. Short battery life. ; Watch the Aliph Jawbone Prime in action!

Aliph Jawbone

When it comes to Bluetooth headsets, what's your definition of "sleek"? If you say it means "minimalist, understated, and textured," then the second-generation Aliph Jawbone fits the bill. But if you say it means "shiny, smooth, and dainty," well,...

Superb sound quality and noise cancellation ; Multiple earbud and earhook options

Pricey ; Minimal visual cues

The new Jawbone's ability to eliminate background noise was even more impressive. When I made calls in two loud situations (one with machinery whirring and another with loud music playing), the call recipients heard only my voice. When I stopped...

Aliph New Jawbone

The New Jawbone Bluetooth Headset improves on the original's stellar sound quality and top-notch noise-cancellation circuitry, and boasts a much slimmer and more comfortable design, too.

Excellent voice quality. Effective noise cancellation. Very comfortable fit. Charges in one hour.

Poor battery life.

Aliph Jawbone

If you need to make phone calls from noisy places, the Aliph Jawbone headset is essential.

Highly effective noise cancellation. Sleek styling.

Limited phone compatibility. Earpiece is somewhat conspicuous. Reduces phone's battery life.

The Jawbone is larger and more expensive than most headsets, but it is uniquely effective in blocking out background noise. Since it uses active electronics, Aliph estimates that it can reduce battery life by 15 to 25 percent, but you can switch off...

Aliph Jawbone Icon

The Aliph Jawbone Icon offers top-notch sound quality and noise suppression, and it even runs "apps."

First Bluetooth headset with mobile apps. Excellent sound quality. Improved controls. Many design options. Costs less than prior versions.

Short battery life. Fussy ear hook. ; Watch the Aliph Jawbone Icon!

Voice Quality, Noise Suppression, and Conclusions Voice quality in the earpiece was good, but not perfect: a little nasal and trebly sounding, but smooth and not harsh. On my side, the Voyager Pro sounded warmer, smoother, and louder, although the...
