Audio Technica ATH-ANC7B review

The noise-cancelling aspect of these headphones works well, but unfortunately the ATH-ANC7Bs struggle where it matters most

Comfortable, solid build ; noise-cancelling ; sounds OK in isolation

A little brash ; muddled midrange ; lacks detail required for the money

We've no qualms with the noise-cancelling aspect, but the sound quality needs to be better

Audio-Technica ATH-ANC7B review

Last year, we reviewed the Audio-Technica QuietPoint ATH-ANC7 noise-canceling headphones , and editor Jasmine France thought they were a good value, offering decent but not great sound for the money. Well, when we heard that Audio-Technica was...

Less expensive than competing models from Bose; effective noise-canceling circuitry; device folds for compact storage in included carrying case; they work (in passive mode) when the noise-canceling function is turned off or the batteries have died.

Still fairly pricey; they leak more sound than they should (for a closed-cup design); they sound only OK for the money.

We hoped that the Audio-Technica's QuietPoint ATH-ANC7b noise-canceling headphones would deliver more bang for the buck than Bose's noise-canceling models--but they don't.

Audio-Technica ATH-ANC7b HEADPHONES

The Audio-Technica ATH-ANC7b are decent headphones that perform moderately well in most of our tested categories. They have an above-average sound quality and can block noise fairly well. Unfortunately, they can't handle the level of ambient noise in a...

Leaks a lot of sound. ; Limited audio controls.

Audio Technica ATH-ANC7B

Experience great noise canceling headphones.

The model's big plus is the noise canceling feature that leads to a clear sound. They have a small weight and can be used passively without batteries as well

The size of the ear cups is larger than it should and this can become uncomfortable. Sound leakage levels are quite hard so it can be difficult to listen while in spaces with other people without them hearing all

The light and compact design of these headphones allows them to be carried easily while traveling. The noise canceling feature is very effective, blocking all other noises surrounding the listener. However, when the noise canceling function is off the...

Audio Technica ATH-ANC7b Review

The Audio Technica ATH-ANC7bs are a veteran pair in our noise-cancelling headphones review, but they still compete well with new headsets when it comes to cancelling noise. This inexpensive pair might not deliver the best sound quality, but they have a...

These headphones did a great job cancelling noise in both of our decibel tests. In fact, its noise cancelling abilities compare with those of the top three headsets on our list.

Sound quality is slightly improved with active noise cancelling enabled, but, overall, the quality is lacking.

The Audio Technica ATH-ANC7b offer a great choice if you want budget noise-cancelling headphones without Bluetooth.
