Denon AH-D2000 review

These are sumptuously turned-out headphones, with an ultra-comfortable, closed-back design: you can listen long (and loud) without annoying your ears

Comfortable, good looks, great detail, smooth sound

Possibly too refined for some people

These Denon's have a smooth, refined sound - maybe too smooth for some

Denon AH-D2000 review

Denon has got it just right with its new high-end headphone

Highly detailed sound ; Excellent imaging ; Superb extension at frequency extremes ; Comfortable

Slightly recessed upper midrange and low treble ; Can get warmer than some open-back models

Certainly among the best closed-back headphones we’ve heard and very fine by any standards. At £250 it’s also good value and the gorgeous build quality only adds to the appeal of its very fine sound. An accomplished package

Denon AHD2000 review

With earbuds practically taking over the popular private listening landscape, I can't help but wonder how many people consider over-the-ear headphones anymore. While I love my earbuds, especially while wandering around New York City and riding the...

Luxury full-size headphones with deep, powerful bass; well-padded earcups; solid construction.

Pricey; leather covers on earcups can cause sweat with extended listening sessions; body doesn't fold down for compact storage

For at-home listening, the Denon AH-D2000 headphones provide plenty of oomph, masterful musicality, and a solid, well-constructed design.

Denon AH-D2000 headphones

Denon's AH-D2000s are truly outstanding. Masses of detail and a sonically neutral, balanced sound make these superb reference cans.

Sound quality. Comfort. Design. Sonically balanced. Terrific detail.

Mid-range lacks warmth.

One of the best pairs of closed-back headphones we've heard at this price.

Denon AH-D2000

Deep punchy bass and clear mids/highs.

Bass a little '12" sub in the boot' at first, soon tightens up with use. Fit not for everybody (Rather large)

Denon AH-D2000

I use the Denon's with a Sony SCD777ES sacd player and the Sony matching 777ES amplifier. ABBA tracks sound particularly good (I am a fan). The Denon's are light and comfortable. If you can afford a pair, then buy them!

None discovered, so far.
