Denon AH-MM400

Denon is a headphone veteran, but over the past few years we've questioned the products it's launched. While chasing the Beats bandwagon meant that too often form, fit and even sound quality were off the mark.

Great comfort ; Mostly solid build ; Smooth, detailed and natural sound

Design may not be suited to those with big ears ; Wooden design likely to put off as many as it attracts

Reviewing high-end headphones can't be too easy. Good review.

Denon AH-MM400 review

Walnut-finished with serious audio quality

Great all-round audio experience ; Well-built, well-designed chassis ; Decent price

The walnut finish will be divisive

The Denon AH-MM400s are a really impressive pair of headphones. They're solidly built and comfortable to wear, and are able to deliver everything from soaring vocals to punchy bass in superb quality. Denon's AH-MM400 headphones really impress. They're...

Denon AH-MM400 headphones review: Wonderful or just wooden?

Tired of plasticky headphones? Well, here's your chance to buy into some with a wooden exterior - Denon's new AH-MM400 reference over-ears. If you're looking for headphones different to the norm then the Denon AH-MM400 certainly succeed in standing out...

Quirky wooden design, spacious soundscape, comfortable fit

Can sound a little thin with limited bass, that quirky design, price

If you're looking for headphones different to the norm then the Denon AH-MM400 certainly succeed in standing out - not that the quirky American walnut wood finish will be everyone's cup of tea.

Denon AH-MM400 review

We take a look at the Denon AH-MM400 and compare it to its predecessors the Denon AH-D600 & AH-D2000

We found the Denon to deliver a fantastic overall package as a portable headphone with the AH-MM400. However, we did not find it capable to dethrone or compete with the older Denon AH-D600, D7100, D2000, D5000 and D7000 headphones, which simply...

Denon AH-MM400 review: Superlative sound for £200

Superb sound, great build and portable enough to take everywhere – Denon's AH-MM400 are a great pair of headphones

Since their launch a year or so back, the AH-MM400s have dropped down significantly in price – which is partly why I’ve taken the time to review them now. Frankly, though, I’d rate them highly even at their original £349 price, and given that they’re...

Denon AH-MM400 Music Maniac headphones review

The Denon AH-MM400 Music Maniac headphones are the latest cans from a company renowned for decent audio quality, and all the ingredients are there for a great pair of headphones. We popped a pair on to see if they can deliver on their potential - read...

First off, the Denon AH-MM400 Music Maniac headphones really stand out from the crowd. Packing in a mixture of American walnut, metal and faux leather, they're definitely not shy and retiring, but we think they look great

That walnut finish definitely won't appeal to all tastes though, and if you're a fan of more contemporary designs the chances are you won't like the look of the Music Maniac headphones

When it comes to the Denon AH-MM400 Music Maniac headphones, you'll find fantastic sound quality, a premium construction and look, with a classy old school design that adds up to a brilliant pair of headphones. They're certainly worthy of Denon's...

Sound fabulous and feel very comfortable to wear.

Would have liked a longer lead to use while listening to my stereo at home.

Headphones that are as smooth as butter

This is my first official review for any headphone on Head-fi, so I will give it my best shot. Anything you want clarification on, please let me know. Previous headphones: B&W P7, Sennheiser Momentum Over-Ear, V-Moda M100, Denon AH-D2000, Denon...

Sound that gives tracks their own individuality, Stellar build quality, Comfortable, Great value

2 cables provided could have been sturdier for a headphone of this price, no hard carry case
