Jays a-JAYS One

Top sound quality for under £20? Can the Jays a-JAYS One take on the mighty Sennheiser CX 300?

Great value ; Robust, smooth sound

Treble could do with a boost

The Jays a-JAYS offer superb value - bringing a warm, involving and thoroughly well-controlled sound, plus decent styling to the budget sector. They benefit from a treble boost, but even without it they produce a thoroughly pleasurable sound.

For only £39.99, the a-JAYS One Plus headphones represent good value considering the sound quality and functionality they provide, and you can get more out of them if you use them with the free Android app.

a-Jays One+ Earphones – Review

Having heard many good things about the a-Jays range of earphones, and with most bundled headsets being very average indeed, I thought, for £40, these would be a great addition to my newly purchased Galaxy Note 2. In actual fact, the bundled headphones...

If your handset runs Ice Cream Sandwhich or older, then strangely you’ll probably get more out of this headset, as the a-JAYs app will let you customise the button and it’s functions.

Jays a-Jays One+

In this affordable price range, the Jays a-Jays One+ represents a good deal for in-canal earphones, but it's not the only option worth your attention.

Solid audio performance with no distortion. Laudable bass response. Includes inline remote and microphone.

Cable is bulky for a pair of in-ears. Sound signature could use a bit more brightness.

In this price range, the RHA MA450i is a decent option with a much brighter (sometimes too bright) sound signature, while the Moshi Dulcia is another comparable option with a better-feeling fit. The RHA MA150, meanwhile, is about as cheap as earphones...
