Plantronics M55 review

Have any corners been cut in Plantronics' budget headset?

Great price ; Very good sound quality ; Comfortable to wear ; DeepSleep works well

Not the most stylish design ; Some social media features only work in the US

The Plantronics M55 Bluetooth headset is great value for money, including a build quality and features that aren't seen on more expensive headsets. We highly recommend it.

Plantronics M55 Bluetooth Headset review

Even with the rising popularity of smartphones that boast impressive stereo audio and complex data-intensive functions, sometimes you just want to make a simple call. For those who chat on the go often, not having to clutch a handset while talking is...

The Plantronics M55 Bluetooth earpiece is compact, attractively styled, and affordable. It offers basic voice prompts and vocal commands. A DeepSleep function promises to preserve battery life when shelved.

Call quality suffers when outdoors. The M55 also only comes with one earbud size.

Low-priced and extremely small, the $49 Plantronics M55 is a discreet and stylish budget earpiece, but there are better options for noisy outdoor environments.

Plantronics M55

The Plantronics M55 is sleek and small, with great battery life and good call quality; it's the best budget Bluetooth headset we've tested to date.

Good call quality. Long battery life. Comfortable. Stylish.

A2DP lacks bass.

Other Features and Conclusions If you have an iPhone, the M55 features a battery life indicator next to the iPhone's battery icon. Battery life was great; at top volume, the battery was good for 8 hours and 28 minutes. But top volume is really loud. At...

We've got a brand new Bluetooth earpiece on the review bench today by the name of Plantronics M55, ladies and gentlemen, and this little beast is rather well put together. This is one of many reviews we've done of Plantronics Bluetooth devices , this...

Solid piece

This has been a great little unit. I couldn't find it one day while I was doing laundry. Later, I grabbed fresh clothes out of the dryer (Mmmmmm fresh, clean. warm clothes) and found it therein. My face dropped.. Seriously, my chin hit the dryer door....

(1: very good reception/clarity; I was informed by a friend of mine, with whom I speak frequently, that he could hear the difference the moment my bluetooth turned on. My voice became more distinct, and he could hear me more clearly. (2: decent range;...

It's battery life diminished significantly after going through the washer/dryer. The fact that it still works should have been listed in the 'Pros'.... but I'm too lazy. I cannot dock an egg for the fact that it doesn't work as long after GOING THROUGH...

Dont think I want another one

Its pros of good clear connection, good volume and secure fit out weigh the bad button, but just barely. I would definitely buy Plantronics again (I have used 3 different models over the years) but not this one. I would look for one that looks like...

stays in the ear well without the suction effect of the ear bud approach but you get good sound in all but the worst circumstances. I have it with me all the time and often take it off and hang it from my shirt pocket or my t shirt collar. The ear hook...

This thing has a super sensitive button that makes calls if a strong breeze hits it! But at the same time sometimes it just doesn't pay attention to you when you try to answer a call by touching it!! VERY frustrating and inconvenient. It is not good...

Affordable and reliable hands free option

I bought this on sale. I cannot remember what I paid, but in my opinion it should be moderately priced as it is definitely better than "cheap" but not quite as good as "deluxe."

I bought this to keep in my car which doesn't have built in bluetooth to carry on hands free conversations on the road. I probably only use it once a week, but only need to charge it every 2 months or so. It has good sound quality and is easy to use....

Not comfortable to just walk around with it in your ear for too long so not something you would want to just wear around. Also not incredibly attractive or fashionable to walk around with one of these nowadays although it doesn't flash and glow like a...
