Sennheiser MM 550 Travel

Bluetooth headphones with active noise cancellation. More expensive than Bose, but worth £300?

Feature-packed, Comfortable

Noise cancellation ruins sound, Slightly fiddly to use, Expensive

Sennheiser MM 550-X Travel

It's rare that we dole out a one out five G-rating for a gadget, but the Sennheiser MM 550-X Travel headphones are one of the sad exceptions. Find out why in the clip above from our noise-cancelling headphones group test. Sennheiser MM 550-X Travel is...

Headphones and Ear Warmers : Sennheiser Travel MM 550-X & Midland Subzero Ear Warmers (or Coolers)

Here two items that relay sound, first from Sennheiser the Travel MM 550-X with rather good noise cancelizing. Second a pair that has a secondary function as ear warmers, they also carry out their main role well.

These can be used as standard earphones by just plugging the 3.5mm jack into your music and the other end the 2.5mm jack into the right earphone. Even without the noise cancelling effect you still get an air of peace around you. There is an amazing...

Sennheiser MM 550-X

It's not the best at noise cancellation you can get, but the high-end Sennheiser MM 550-X scores as a comfortable, great-sounding pair of wireless Bluetooth headphones.

Stellar sound quality in wireless mode. Brilliantly designed controls. Very comfortable. Rugged, folding design.

Very expensive. Noise cancellation performance, while solid, isn't class-leading. Audio quality takes a big hit when noise cancellation is activated.

TalkThrough, Other Features, and Conclusions The TalkThrough function takes the audio recorded from the tiny mics and actually pumps it in the earcups. This way, you can hear what's going on around you without removing the headset, while still...

Review: Sennheiser MM 550-X

You may recognize these Sennheisers, since we reviewed the previous model about a year ago. But they've been updated recently with some new firmware that...

Stellar sound, even with noise-canceling activated. Support for hi-fi Apt-X codec. Super-portable, wireless design makes them perfect for all kinds of travel. Over-the-ear design stays put, keeps a good seal and feels great all day

A whole lotta drachmas. Controls can be confusing — RTFM before use. Could definitely do with some more headroom

Review: Sennheiser MM 550 Noise-Canceling Headphones

Noise-canceling headphones that handle the rigors of the road while offering solid sound quality.

Slick design. Compact and foldable. Loaded with travel features for different listening environments

Nonstandard cord could be a hassle to replace. Closed design and tight grip may cause ear fatigue during long listening sessions. Steep price tag

Sennheiser MM 550-X HEADPHONES

The Sennheiser MM 550-X Wireless are lightweight, comfortable headphones that unfortunately fail at delivering balanced audio reproduction and efficient noise isolation. They don't leak much sound but, dissapointingly, allow a lot of ambient noise to...

Lightweight, compact design. ; Don't leak much sound.

Poor noise cancelling. ; Bass lacking.

Sennheiser MM 550-X Review

Overall, the Sennheiser MM 550-X is a solid set of Bluetooth headphones. When the headphones are wired or in Bluetooth mode, your music sounds sharp and authentic. The ear cups are open and able to fit any size ear, and they conveniently house all the...

It has a 40-foot wireless range.

In Bluetooth mode, the battery only lasts eight hours and doesn't fare much better in standby with only a 20-hour life.

For a lightweight, compact set of headphones, the MM 550-X emits a surprisingly remarkable soundscape.

Sennheiser MM 550 Noise Cancelling Travel Headphones Review

With Bluetooth Technology

This is a headphone that is incorporated with a Bluetooth feature that works effectively with the notebook or iPad. Additionally, it also supports the iPhone by offering a relatively seamless switch between listening to music and taking or making calls

With the Sennheiser MM 550 Headphones, there is a detachable cable that makes the switch from the Bluetooth in a simple automatic manner. This is a feature that makes the headphone to have a relatively easy effect on the airlines. It is charged with...

Quality parts for the most part. Poor design.

Flat repair cost for this unit is $125. That is very steep for a headset that, even when working, you just are not happy with. I chose to give them away and spend that money getting something better (not hard). I do not recommend the entire brand. At...

Comes with power adapters for every country in the world. Way more than you will ever need. Comes with a very nice carry case. The battery is changeable and can be charged outside the headset. That is good because you will need three batteries to keep...

Notice in the Pro section that nothing is said about the headphones themselves. That speaks volumes. The materials are top quality. Unfortunately that does not help the poor design and for when (not if) they do snap in half. The ear cans will probably...
