That's a question a fair number of CNET readers like to ask us, and while it's hard to give a definitive answer, Sennheiser's RS 185 model is certainly one of the better options out there at $280 (£230, AU$599).

Somewhat pricey compared with Bluetooth options; base station/charging stand feels a little cheap.

Powerful wireless audio output. Digital and analog inputs. Bass mode increases low-end dramatically, but can be disabled. Excellent transmission—never stuttered during testing, even through walls.

Sound signature is quite sculpted. Can distort in Bass mode on deep bass tracks at high volumes. Not portable; only for home use.

The Sennheiser RS 175 is a set of wireless headphones intended for home use that offer excellent range and thunderous bass.

The Sennheiser RS 175 have the same design and build quality as the but sound a bit worse for critical listening. They don't do as well with voices and instruments, and they have a bit too much bass. They're also not versatile enough to use anywhere...

Low latency connection. ; Decent sound quality.

Poor isolation and high leakage. ; Limited range and usability. ; Bass delivery varies significantly across users. Sensitive to glasses.

Headphones

These headphones are first class for TV and music, they are crystal clear. My only gripe about these headphones is the leather type ear pads, they make your head get very hot and sweaty. Sennheiser make a velour ear pad which is much better.
