Shure E500PTH Noise Isolating Headphones

The Shure E500PTH headphones are, quite simply, staggering - but so is the price.

Next I fired up Breath Me by Sia, a track that I had recently used to evaluate the Etymotic ER.4 microPro headphones. This is a great test track since it starts off with very subtle acoustics and builds to a loud and enthralling climax. The Etymotic...

The latest in expensive sound isolating earphones

Brilliant earphones

Very expensive

If you're looking for top-notch in-ears, try these - but don't overlook Shure's other models and Etymotic designs.

Shure E500PTH

Let's face it, £419 is a lot of money to ask for a pair of earphones. But could it ever be worth it? You may be cynical but one listen to Shure's new E500PTH earphones could be enough to change the way you think. If music is your life, then get ready...

Incredible sound reproduction - you'll hear sounds you've never heard before, Push To Hear technology enables you to hear what's happening around you

Noise cancellation is so effective you'll hear nothing else, in-ear headphones don't suit everyone, very expensive

Even without the PTH box, there's no denying the incredible sound quality provided by these earphones. If you love music and have the cash, buy them. Otherwise, if you ever get the chance to try them out - take it. These earphones transform the way you...

Shure E500PTH

Shure's new flagship in-ear headphone model, the E500PTH, simply sounds amazing. The company managed to squeeze three drivers into each compact noise-isolating earphone, and the included detachable Push-To-Hear module provides an innovative way to hear...

Best sound quality of any in-ear headphones I've tested. Very comfortable. Compact and lightweight. Push-To-Hear (PTH) module is very handy when you need to hear outside sounds briefly. Great accessory set. Very efficient.

You pay through the nose for joy in your ears. Gain wheel on the PTH module is too recessed.

The Shure E500PTH are quite expensive headphones, but they sound absolutely fantastic, and the Push-To-Hear module is a brilliant idea. They're worth all of the 54,900 pennies.
