Sony XBA-4iP

The best Sony headphones we've heard in years

Unique design produces superb audio ; crisp and taut but terrifically weighty delivery

Can sound brash with poor recordings

Sony XBA-4iP: Sound quality So, in each earphone you have a tweeter, full-range driver and two woofers, and while that results in a rather chunky design, these are surprisingly comfortable and secure in the ears. On top of that, they sound absolutely...

Sony XBA-4iP review

Plenty of the biggest brands are getting on board with the new balanced armatures tech this year. Brands like Sony, who recently showed off their entire 2012 headphone range – including seven in-ears that tote balanced armatures. The XBA 4iPs are the...

Sony XBA-4 review

Sony claims that its new $349.99 XBA-4's sound is "optimized for audiophiles," and my anecdotal testing confirms that this is truly a great-sounding set of headphones. It features Sony's newly designed "microsized balanced armature drivers," and in...

Sony's XBA-4 in-ear headphones are the company's first to use four balanced armature drivers in each earpiece for ambient noise isolation, and they sound great.

Its high performance comes at an equally lofty price.

Sony's audiophile-grade XBA-4 in-ear headphones deliver highly refined sound, with potent bass, airy treble, and excellent noise-isolating performance.

Sony XBA-4IP in-ear headphone review

Sony knows a thing or two about producing decent audio products and they've utilised this heritage to create one of the finest in-ear headphones ever produced.

If there is a better in-ear headphone on the market than the Sony XBA-4IP then we haven’t heard them.
