SteelSeries SteelSound 5H v2

 

SteelSeries launches in to the audio world with a competent set of gaming headphones.

The foam padding is pretty comfortable, and the top band of the headphones is padded with what I can only assume is a rather thin faux leather. From experience, these tend to blister up and peel off eventually. But hey, headphones don't last forever.

Pulls apart for easy transportation ; Hide-away microphone ; Extremely long, detachable cable ; Enhances voices and things like gunshots, positioned for competitive gamers

Pricey for the audio quality ; Not really for music

The 5Hv2 can be best described as passable. If you don't need to pull your headset apart, we'd recommend the cheaper, more comfortable and tonally superior Plantronics GameCom 777 or 377.
