Apple's new wireless keyboard is a thing of beauty. It's right up there among our favourite designs to spring from the fertile imaginations of the Apple design team. It took a tantalisingly long time for our order to arrive, but the wait was well worth it

Apple keyboard

Apple has finally done away with its chunky old keyboard and replaced it with this super-slim aluminium upgrade. The new board comes bundled with all iMacs and Mac Pros, is available independently, and a wireless version should be available in the UK soon

Apple Wireless Keyboard review

The Apple Wireless Keyboard's slim, compact design is good for use at home – for example, we use ours with a Apple Mac mini that's plugged into a flat-screen TV and used as a media centre in the living room.

The Apple Wireless Keyboard is less suited for use in an office environment – many people simply find it too compact to type on rapidly. It doesn't have a proper numeric keypad either, so it's not much use if your work involves a lot of number...

Apple's own Bluetooth keyboard is a good choice for any iOS device when an external keyboard is needed

Low profile; lightweight; portable; Apple function keys; instant pairing; chiclet keys; great brushed-aluminium styling

We take a look at Apple's Wireless Keyboard - suitable for both the Mac and the iPad

Compact, lightweight design; useful function keys; works with iPad too

Too small for some people; no numeric keypad

With the launch of the aluminium iMac range came a new keyboard. Does that, in its own right, warrant a £30 spend?

Vastly improved ergonomics, dedicated OS X function keys (dashboard, expose, iTunes shuttle controls), tactile response, should stay cleaner than the old white keyboard
