Microsoft Optical Desktop with Fingerprint Reader

If you're tired of having multiple login names and passwords to remember, Microsoft's latest keyboard and mouse bundle could be the answer.

The only thing that may put you off this quality package is the price, which at around £60 is on the expensive side for a keyboard and mouse package, though it isn’t what we’d call extortionate. On the other hand if you’re a keen surfer, online...

Microsoft Optical Desktop with Fingerprint Reader

Comfortable, well-designed flat keyboard that sports a secure biometric fingerprint scanner that helps you automate log-ons to Web sites and Windows programs.

Comfortable keyboard, good mouse for business purposes, and a time-saving password management and log-on automation program that's as easy to use as resting your fingerprint on the scanner

Expensive, can't back up log-on data, and won't log onto corporate networks

There's no doubt you've all heard the lectures about the importance of creating secure passwords containing numbers, letters and all sorts of other characters. Creating the password is easy, remembering them is an entirely different story. This can be...

Microsoft Optical Desktop with Fingerprint Reader

Just when I had crossed out all the Microsoft Keyboard products I had put on my list to ask Santa for this Christmas, we received the new Microsoft Optical Desktop with Fingerprint Reader combo set and believe me 'tis the season to be merry!

F-lock needs to be turned on, although just once ; small left Ctrl key ; plastic wrist pad could be leather, mouse lags a bit

Right above the numeric keypad you have the Calculator key - very sensible. Next are the Log Off and Sleep mode keys. I feel the Sleep key is still not strategically placed, as you tend to rest your hands on the side of the keyboard from time to time,...

Enhanced Optical Technology ; Nice Color/Design ; Longer Battery Life ; Tilt Wheel

No Natural Edition ; Keyboard not wireless ; Not Bluetooth

Starting from the left, there is the biometric fingerprint reader. The reader is a little over an inch long, and slightly less than inch wide. A split red/silver circle encompasses the plastic reader screen. The reader itself is a slightly sticky...
