Acer Aspire E (E5-771G-51T2)

The Acer Aspire E (E5-771G-51T2) is a very good choice if you're willing to pay a little more for a very large laptop with a 1080p HD screen.

Large, bright 17-inch screen. Full numeric keypad. Decent sound. Intel Core i7 processor and 8GB of memory. DVD drive. Good connectivity.

No touch screen. No backlit keyboard. Large amount of bloatware. Sealed battery. No 5GHz Wi-Fi.

All in all, the Acer Aspire E (E5-771G-51T2) is a very good desktop-replacement laptop. It justifies its higher price tag over less expensive models by virtue of its 1080p HD screen, better performance, more system memory, and the fact that you can...

Acer Aspire E5-771G Notebook Review

Broadwell all-rounder. With the Aspire, Acer offers a 17.3-inch all-rounder equipped with the latest Broadwell Core i7 processors. Furthermore, it features a GeForce graphics card, two storage devices (SSD and HDD) and a bright Full HD display.

Bright FHD panel with strong contrast, Fast SSD, Lots of storage space, Barely heats up, Ready for gaming, Good battery life, Decent input devices

No maintenance flap

With the Acer Aspire E5-771G-71PT, you will get an all-rounder with a size of 17.3-inches. The used Core i7 processor is more than sufficient for everyday tasks. Together with the GeForce graphics core, the Aspire can also run computer games. Thanks to...

Good Internals, Okay Externals

This functions well as a quasi-desktop replacement. Most of my cons are fixed with peripherals, and if you have it on a desk/table/counter/suchlike, then there isn't much to complain about once you have a mouse. I got this reallllly discounted on Cyber...

This laptop runs really well. All tasks I've asked of it (third year Comp Sci student/gamer) have been handled with ease. It's not a gigantic powerhouse, but it gets jobs done, and on a pretty darn good screen. I didn't notice how big it was when I...

As has been mentioned in other reviews, the touchpad is pretty bad. Not only is it one of those solid one piece things, but for as large a screen as you have, I feel like I have to just let my finger sit at the edge of the pad and let my cursor slowly...

Fantastic Laptop!

I got this laptop at a VERY reduced price on holiday sale. I got it for 550, including a 200 dollar free software package. I don't know if I'd pay $950 for it, but at the price I paid I am VERY satisfied.

Screen quality is fantastic! Not only is it 1080p, there's a great range of brightness, and barely any screen glare. I read a ton on my laptop and it's very good on this machine. The overall build quality is great. The metallic case stays clean, the...

The touchpad is TERRIBLE. I use a mouse so this isn't a big deal, but if you rely on touchpads for your use, I'd really avoid this. The machine also comes loaded with bloatware, but that can be fixed pretty easily

Great laptop for the price

Fast, great graphics card, slim design. The first laptop I received had a keyboard key that was coming out. I had to order a new one, but Newegg made the return / refund process as easy as possible
