Acer Aspire E5-772G Notebook Review

Good stuff. Acer has equipped its brand new 17-inch laptop, with a striking fabric-like texture, a gaming-suitable engine, an SSD and decent input devices. Our test reveals whether the other components, as well as thermals and noise justify the very...

Solid, decently built casing, ac Wi-Fi, TPM module (w/o matching software), Decent keyboard, good touchpad, Rich-color, relatively viewing angle stable screen, SSD + HDD, Good Turbo utilization

Very fingerprint susceptible, All ports on front, Maintenance-unfriendly, inaccessible battery, Scaled-down number pad, Bluish tint in delivery state, Cooling too weak for rough permanent load

Our review sample does not stand out from Asus' F751LB-T4030H, but it is equipped with a better keyboard and, above all, an SSD that enables a noticeably smoother operation. The in-house competition in the form of the less economical Acer Aspire V17...

Good laptop at a fair price

No DVD or easy way to install one without the Proper cable to motherboard and adapter. Rarely use one anymore anyway. External player has been sufficient. Installed a Seagate 1TB Gaming SSHD SATA 32GB NAND SATA 6Gb/s 2.5-Inch Internal Bare Drive...

Good screen at the price point Keyboard is good and comfortable to type on Feels solid despite being mostly plastic Intel I7 processor 2 video cards Seems to work well with Linux kernel 4.0 and up 2 USB 3.0 connectors

Touch pad is fair; usable in a pinch (get a separate mouse) touch pad rattles sometimes when typing (annoying) Upgrading is a pain (whole bottom has to come off for HD change; and Motherboard/Fan unscrewed to install extra RAM since it's on the other...

Fine for the price...

If you can get this laptop for under 600 dollars this is a fantastic pick for the specs. I personally used this as a Linux machine for my scripting and coding on Centos7 and used the Windows 10 for my entertainment. I had plenty of issues but this was...

Decent Processor Fantastic specs for the price point

Touch pad is terrible A lot of typical Acer bloatware No cd rom/dvd drive

Acer should totally sell the base model of laptops and then provide accessories separately. I would but a back-lit keyboard at this point because it would be easy to put on. Maybe they do. I will check this before I assemble again because I know that...

Basic Specs are nice. i7 and the graphics are good. The price was right.

Others have talked about how fast the rubber bumpers fall off the bottom. They literally fell off as I took it out of the package. I checked and there was glue but it looked like it had already fallen off and had hair and stuff stuck to it and then was...

Could be a Great Product

Probably going to return this unit.

Unit is fast.

Have had the unit just over 2 weeks and two of the rubber bumpers on the bottom of the unit has fallen off? Wanted a quality laptop at a reasonable price. My son is a Acer fan, I thought I might be also until this issue with such seems like a very...

High performance, Relatively Good Price, So-So Design

The lack of an optical drive, or a second hard disk, is understandable, but there is no SATA connector ready to receive a drive caddy. I suspect ACER did not intend for this particular model to have an extra drive installed, but the motherboard does...

- Reasonable Price, compared to other 17-inch Core i7 laptops - great graphical performance - really fast

- Touchpad is just awful. It's too sensitive, and it's really easy to inadvertently left-click when you intended to right-click. The touchpad can be disabled, and a mouse used instead, but that kinda defeats the purpose of having a portable computer. -...

Almost Great

My first bad buying experience, will ask for a warranty replacement/refund. I thought I trusted Acer as one of the premier laptop brands.

Everything about this computer looks great on paper. -No touch screen, which I love -Overall great specs for the price... 8GB DDR3, i7 processor (albeit low-end), discrete graphics with 4GB dedicated video memory... -1080p screen, high resolution video...

-No room to plug in a second hard drive: I ordered an HDD caddy and everything, all to no avail. -Oh can I mention that mine DIDN'T COME WITH AN OPTICAL DRIVE? Which I was fine with until I saw that there was simply no room to plug in a second SATA...

Excellent, fast laptop

I do recommend it to others, no doubt.

Appears to be top quality and executes programs very fast -- couldn't be happier with it.

Adding more memory is a bit difficult, since there is no "trap door" built into the bottom of the case to do it -- the complete cover has to be removed (there is at least one good video on YouTube explaining how to do it.) I haven't tried that yet.

Arrived broken

The laptop arrived with many problems. Poor performance (running slow). Machine was locking up often when using a browser. Screen would flicker. Maybe something came loose during shipping? The laptop was unusable.. I have other Acer laptops which are...

Nice laptop at a nice price

Does not have a cd/dvd drive. The laptop I received was not working properly which is why I gave the poor review

Great laptop, wish it was a bit more upgrade friendly.

Overall, I LOVE this laptop. Most of the upgrades I'll be making are just because I'm bored and like to tinker. The laptop doesn't NEED them, but I'd just like to have the option to upgrade in the future. I would suggest this to anyone who needs a lot...

This laptop is great. The screen is matte, so it does well when working in the light and helps to eliminate glare. Plus, the screen size is fantastic at 1080p, lots of room for me to work and have multiple windows open without sacrificing workability ;...

This laptop is difficult to upgrade. My previous Acer had ports that allowed quick access to the HDD bay as well as the Memory bay. In order to get to any of the innards, you have to unscrew about 20 screws on the bottom and use a plastic pick to pry...
