Acer Aspire V Nitro VN7-591G Black Edition

This do-it-all notebook from Acer has a Full HD screen and powerful Nvidia graphics

Powerful Nvidia graphics core ; Fast Core i7 processor ; Bright screen with decent colours ; Good keyboard ; Punchy, rich speakers

Processor throttles at high temperatures ; Underwhelming design ; Middling battery life

A quartet of speakers bolster the Acer’s media credentials. They’re very loud, and well-balanced, with subtle and pleasant bass underlining a decent mid-range and a high-end that’s soft and delicate. We’d have no qualms about using these for music,...

Acer Aspire V15 Nitro review

An ace gaming laptop? Sure, in some respects

Stellar performance ; Slim, sleek design ; Nice speakers ; Reasonable price

Short battery life ; Finicky display ; Lots of bloatware

Scores in depth If gaming is your main driver for buying a new laptop, prepare to break the bank. The Razer Blade seems to have it all, but it's also pushing a $2000+ price tag. What if you want to spend only half of that and still have a capable rig?

Acer Aspire VN7-591G 4k laptop review

Acer joined the Ultra HD club with one particular model of its Aspire VN7-591G laptop. The series of 15.6-inch laptops includes various configurations, from a low-res 1366 x 768 pixel, to full-HD, to this model with a 3840 x 2160-pixel display.

Design and build quality are in line with expectations for a midrange laptop, while Intel and nVidia processors are also from the higher end of modern midrange laptops. At only around three hours, battery life was poor, suggesting this model will be...

Acer Aspire V Nitro

This nice looking notebook is also powerful and has an Full HD 1080P screen although it is only 15.6inches. The surprising thing is that it looks the right size even though the majority of 15.6inch offering give a much lower resolution.

It is 38.5x26x2 and weights 2.2kilos. Most of the connections are on the right side so if you wanted this could be close to a wall or partition on your left if you wanted. The exception is the Kensington Lock port on the back left and an SD Card port...

Acer Aspire V15 Nitro Black Edition Review

It takes a bit of detective work to figure out the Acer Aspire V15 Nitro. The stumbling block is that V15 Nitro is actually a series of laptops that cover a wide spread of specifications and prices, r...

Solid Core i7 performance ; 8GB of RAM ; GTX 860M graphics ; Decent battery life ; Smart styling ; Reasonable weight for the size of chassis ; 1TB of storage

The design of the chassis makes upgrades and battery renewal rather tricky ; Three USB 3.0 ports on one side of the chassis and none on the other ; An annoying amount of bloatware software that nags you to create an Acer profile ; Price seems a touch...

Overall we like the Aspire V15 Nitro but struggled to find anything unique that would blow our socks off.

Acer Aspire V 15 Nitro (VN7-591G-76JG)

The Acer Aspire V 15 Nitro (VN7-591G-76JG) entry-level gaming laptop boasts solid features and decent performance, but short battery life and a GPU that can't match the 4K display resolution are undeniable drawbacks.

Beautiful 4K display. Lots of storage space. Decent port selection. Little bloatware. Speedy 802.11ac Wi-Fi.

Lackluster battery life. GPU can't support 4K gaming.

Conclusion The Acer Aspire V 15 Nitro (VN7-591G-76JG) is a definite improvement over the last iteration, the Acer Aspire V 15 Nitro (VN7-591G-70JY), with better performance and a more affordable price. Unfortunately, it still has the two biggest flaws...

Acer Aspire V 15 Nitro (VN7-591G-70JY)

Acer's Aspire V 15 Nitro updates an existing 15-inch gaming laptop with a gorgeous 4K display, but it doesn't make up for lackluster performance and short battery life in testing.

Outfitted with an Intel Core i7-4710HQ quad-core CPU and Nvidia GeForce GTX 860M GPU. Sizable storage, with an SSD speed boost. Gorgeous 4K display. Excellent keyboard.

Short battery life on our tests. Lackluster processing performance. GPU can't support the 4K display.

Conclusion Often, upgrading a lower-tier product with premium components results in a better end product, but for the Acer Aspire V 15 Nitro (VN7-591G-70JY), that's not the case. The increased RAM and storage capacity is a small change, and most of the...

Acer Aspire V Nitro 7-591G-74LK

It's available in various configurations in the US , UK and Australia in 15.6- and 17.3-inch versions starting around $1,000 in the US, AU$2,000 in Australia and £777 in the UK. The exact 15.6-inch configuration reviewed here is currently only...

The Acer Aspire V Nitro Black Edition packs quality components including a high-end quad-core processor, discrete graphics and dual storage drives into an understated body. It has a great 4K-resolution display and sweet-sounding speakers.

The mid-range graphics processor will keep you from playing many games at full 4K resolution. Lack of a touchscreen might disappoint some. Though somewhat expected, battery life is short.

A thinner, lighter gaming laptop, the Acer Aspire V Nitro Black Edition satisfies with an excellent screen and performance and understated good looks.

Acer Aspire V 15 Nitro (VN7-591G-75S2)

The Acer Aspire V 15 Nitro is an entry-level gaming laptop with some real muscle, showing impressive performance and solid battery life without the expense of a premium system.

Affordable price for a gaming laptop. Solid performance, thanks to an Intel Core i7-4710HQ quad-core CPU and Nvidia GeForce GTX 860M GPU. Sizable storage with a solid-state drive (SSD) speed boost.

Design is fairly bland for a gaming laptop.

Conclusion There are several entry-level gaming systems currently available, but the Acer Aspire V 15 Nitro (VN7-591G-75S2) looks to be the best of the bunch right now. With a solid component selection and feature list matched by excellent performance...
