Acer Swift 5 review: A stylish, fully featured thin and light laptop offering great battery life for less than £700

Solid performance, quiet running ; Pleasingly slim and light

A couple of keyboard issues ; Integrated graphics

Acer Swift 5 review: Perfect portability in a well-rounded package

Acer's Swift 5 offers plenty of bang for your buck, though its Marmite-like design is a potential turn-off

Well-priced ; Decent battery life ; Generously sized display

Bizarre design

My only complaint is that its bizarre mishmash of a design won’t be to everyone’s tastes; it looks clunky next to the sleek unibody design of its Swift 7 sibling. Overall though Acer’s Swift 5 perfectly straddles the line between portability and...

Acer Swift 5 review

A review of the Acer Swift 5, a 15in thin-and-light laptop that's a superb all-rounder with good performance, battery life and performance.

The Acer Switch 5 is a great all-rounder laptop for those who want high-end flavour without a price that’ll make you wince. While this isn’t the best-looking premium laptop around, the Switch 5 is also cheaper than just about all of them, by several...

Acer Swift 5

Ultra lightweight with a good display and reasonable price tag, the only thing missing from the Acer Swift 5 is a bit more processing power to make it a great all-round notebook.

Solidly built; Ultra lightweight design; Good display; Well priced

Processor a tad underpowered

The Acer Swift 5 hits several of the right marks when it comes to a slim notebook. It is super light and therefore ultra portable, as well as being well designed and eye catching. Add to that a large enough display that is also detailed, along with...

Acer Swift 5

The lightest 15.6-inch laptop the world has ever seen, Acer's 2.2-pound Swift 5 is a design landmark whose portability outweighs its minor imperfections.

Unbelievably light for its screen size. Sunny 1080p screen. Good battery life.

No Thunderbolt 3 port or SD card slot. Screen is reflective. Beaucoup bloatware.

Bottom Line: The lightest 15.6-inch laptop the world has ever seen, Acer's 2.2-pound Swift 5 is a design landmark whose portability outweighs its minor imperfections.

Acer Swift 5 SF514-51-59AV Notebook Review

Elegant companion. Acer combines the most important elements of a subnotebook and calls the result Swift 5. The refined yet familiar design is particularly impressive.

design ; swipe-style fingerprint scanner ; no throttling under load ; heat development ; quiet operation ; battery runtime

keyboard attracts fingerprints ; keyboard bounces a bit ; slightly uneven brightness distribution ; poor webcam ; speakers

Successful mixture: Acer combines elegant design with sufficient performance, but does not forget the important emissions. We liked the elegant chassis design with the extremely thin bezels in particular. But that's not all: Acer uses solid metal...

Acer Swift 5 review: A decent ultrabook at an affordable price

Given the distinctly MacBook-like look and feel of many Windows ultraportables, we were pleased to see that Acer's new Swift 5 manages to make a more individual design statement -- while still keeping its prices attractively competitive.

Competitive price ; Lightweight, slimline design ; Full HD display (1,920 x 1,080) ; Good battery life

Plastic casing ; Display contrast could be better ; Weak speakers
