Apple 2.66GHz MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2010) review

Apple's latest 15in MacBook Pro is the first laptop we've tested to use one of Intel's latest Core i7 processors – in this case a 2.66GHz i7-620M. This new chip only has dual processing cores, while previous Core i7's were all quad-core, yet another...

Apple MacBook Air (Mid 2009) review

Not only is the Apple MacBook Air (Mid 2009) one of the fastest true ultraportables money can buy - it's also 30% cheaper than the previous model - UPDATED 27 AUGUST 2009.

The previous generation MacBook Air was already well clear of the competition in its sleek design and uncompromised speed. With this latest 2009 update, not only has Apple made the Apple MacBook Air (Mid 2009) faster, but it’s over 30% cheaper. It...

Apple 2.26GHz 13in MacBook Pro review

Apple's 13in MacBook Pro is a revised version of the company's previous 13in MacBook.

An excellent ultra-portable laptop that's let down only by its small hard disk and non-replaceable battery.

Apple MacBook Air (Mid-2009) review

The MacBook Air is the slowest laptop in the Mac line and the updated model reviewed here is even slower than its predecessor. But we still love it.

If what strikes you about the MacBook Air is that it's overpriced and underpowered, it isn't the laptop for you. It's hobbled by having only a single USB port. Its processor is slow and it's locked into 2GB of RAM. There's no FireWire, no optical drive...

Apple 2.0GHz MacBook review

The MacBook's glossy white chassis is sleek and sturdy but gets dirty easily. The charger has a magnetic connector that disconnects harmlessly if someone trips over the cable rather than dragging the notebook to the floor.

Apple's stylish MacBook is well-designed but underspecified. It has a well-designed case and one of longest-lasting batteries in this group, but it's not great value thanks to its small hard disk and the lack of a DVD writer.

Apple MacBook Air June 2009

Still marred by limited connectivity but, with the lightweight design and improved performance, it remains as tempting as ever.

The MacBook Air is by no means perfect. Its performance and connectivity options are both more limited than those of conventional but heavier laptops. However, it does perform well when compared to other ultra-portable PCs in the same price bracket....

MacBook Air 2.13GHz review

Announced at the Worldwide Developers Conference, Apple's latest MacBook Air comes with a lower price point but suffers in terms of speed.

Weighs 1.36kg; thin; full-size keyboard; bright 13in display

Slower than all other Apple laptops; single USB port limits connectivity

If what you want out of your Mac laptop is the best combination of speed and price, the MacBook Air’s not for you. It’s hobbled by having a single USB port. Its processor is slow and it’s locked into 2GB of RAM. There’s no FireWire, no optical drive...

Apple MacBook Air

The Apple MacBook Air started somewhat of a revolution in laptops. It's not a netbook per se (the spec and price will testify to to that), but at just 19mm slim, it does have netbook proportions. And now it's spawned a whole new world of thin,...

As with all Apple products a lot of thought has gone into style

Unfortunately that style has come at the expense of a load of features. Oh and it's expensive

Apple has cut some significant corners to get the MacBook Air down to size. Undeniably beautiful, but not quite worth the high price Apple's asking for.

Apple MacBook Air laptop

This 1.4kg sliver of a computer is truly breathtaking to look at. But here a good processor and 2 gigs of RAM don't translate to speedy performance, and aside from wi-fi and Bluetooth, the only connections are a single USB port, a headphone jack and a...

True next-gen design. Incredible keyboard and screen. Good battery life - more than three hours. Competitive price

Lack of connectors a real problem. Some devices hard to wedge into the flip-down USB port. Disappointing performance. Pokey hard drive
