Acer Aspire V Nitro Black Edition VN7-792G-74Q4 Notebook Review

Full speed with Nitro. Acer's successful Nitro lineup is being upgraded to Skylake. The manufacturer again manages to leave the rivals behind thanks to a well-conceived total package.

classy design, screen's brightness and contrast, IPS panel, performance, input devices

no maintenance hatches, screen's color noise

The manufacturer almost seamlessly connects to the success of the tried line with the latest update and can even add to that. In addition to the performance technical features, some small aspects have been polished. The keyboard has improved...

Acer Aspire V 17 Nitro VN7-792G-55SF Notebook Review

(Quad)Core values. High-end is great, but not always required: even when equipped with a Core i5 CPU and a GeForc 945M GPU, the Acer Aspire VN7-792G offers solid performance for a price that's more than fair. The display isn't too shabby, either.

quality of chassis is very decent, superb input devices, USB Typ-C, high contrast IPS display with great viewing angles, good application and gaming performance, low emissions, outstanding price-to-value ratio

complicated to maintain/upgrade, power adapter not large enough, battery is integrated, display response is slow

Overall we can only recommend the Aspire Nitro - and not just our review notebook VN7-792G-55SF.

Acer Aspire V17 VN7-792G review – the 17-inch “Black Edition” multimedia laptop

Acer did a great job with their 17-inch Nitro Black Edition. It gets the same looks and slender body as the smaller versions, but performs smoother under load, runs cooler and can be paired with excellent screen options. Most models are also...

looks nice and it's well built; decent keyboard and trackpad; splendid 4K screen on this model; solid performance; runs cool; punchy speakers; the 1080P versions are competitively priced

difficult to upgrade; poor battery life; the 4K screen configurations are expensive

In conclusion, the Acer Aspire V17 Nitro VN7-792G checks many of the right boxes. It’s built well and looks really good, sleeker than most of its rivals. It also gets a splendid display, it offers the performance expected from such a device and runs...

Acer VN7-792G

I bought the ACER v Nitro as I wanted a high performance laptop that could handle tasks like photo eding, which it does with ease. It's got the looks as well, although the matt black finish does mark easily. Obviously with a 17in screen (which is great...

Performance is excellent and the screen is superb, showing the correct colours too without having to re-calibrate

Constantly freezing up. sometimes 4-5 times per day the lights are on but nobody's at home! no visual way of knowing if the caps lock is on or off.

- has no trouble playing things like the Witcher 3 on high, older games on ultra - not too heavy to have on your lap despite being a substantial piece of kit - barely gets warm even when running intensive games

- comes with windows 10 right out the box (below sure to check the box for dev mode so you can install things you want) - storage is partitioned, but that's not a huge problem unless you store terabytes of data - would have preferred more than three...

<8 seconds boot time!!! Win10 runs all my VirtualBox Linux development environments seamlessly - no need to install Linux natively! Absolutely love it. Of all the boxes I've ever owned, this is the one. Definitely best bang for buck :) The 17" HD...

When running the fan at about 25%, it sounds like a distant American freight train blowing its two-tone horn - quite cute though (it takes me somewhere). Other than that it's runs really quietly - and very COOL man ;) Even though this is advertised as...
