Asus Eee PC 1215N

With a fast, 1.8GHz Atom CPU, 2GB of RAM, HD screen and ION2 graphics, Asus' latest netbook offers laptop performance in a slim and light package.

Aside from these you'll find three USB 2.0 ports, a memory card reader supporting SDHC and MMC, 3.5mm headphone and microphone jacks, and an Ethernet port. The wireless front is well-covered by both Bluetooth 3.0 and Wi-Fi N.

Does dual-core performance and Nvidia Ion graphics make this a netbook to look for?

Dual-core processor ; Nvidia Ion graphics ; 12-inch display ; Smooth HD playback ; Stylish design

Expensive ; Performance boost not huge ; Keyboard flex ; Stiff trackpad buttons ; Small hard drive

You'd be forgiven for thinking the days of humble netbooks such as the Asus Eee PC 1215N are numbered, with tablets such as Apple's iPad, the Viewsonic Viewpad 10 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab currently stealing the limelight.
