Asus G50V review

A high-performance gaming system, but not ideal for multimedia tasks

Powerful ; Great usability ; Impressive specification

Low screen resolution ; Styling won't be to everyone's taste

A competent gaming machine with lots of storage and multimedia features to boot

Asus K50IJ review

Asus's K50IJ is a chunky laptop, but its bulk gives it a feeling of sturdiness that makes us confident that it will handle standard daily use and being carried around occasionally.

A great mix of decent performance, sturdy build quality and good usability makes this laptop an excellent choice.

A great display, two-year warranty and decent battery life make the K50IN-SX025C an excellent choice.

Asus G50VT-X5 review

Editors' note: This review is part of our Winter 2009 Retail Roundup , covering specific configurations of popular laptops that can be found in retail stores.

Excellent CPU and GPU for the price; secondary instant-on Linux OS; separate number pad.

Big and heavy; no Bluetooth; lights can't be completely shut off; no dedicated media controls.

The Asus G50VT-X5 offers great gaming performance for under $1,000, but it's missing some basic amenities we've come to expect, and the lightning-bolt design may not appeal to all.

Asus G50V review

With an elegant design and black-and-orange finish, the Asus G50V resonates style. We put the G50V through its paces.

The notebook comes with a backpack and two years warranty. Overall, we liked what we saw of the Asus G50V, and gaming is its only mantra. But, gaming laptops are a rare breed. They cater to a niche that likes to indulge and doesn't mind splurging more...

Asus - G50V

Asus's Republic of Gamers product line carries products that Asus has designed specifically for gamers in mind - no surprise there, then - and while the RoG label is usually associated with motherboards and graphics cards, ...

An excellent gaming notebook which makes good use of Intel's latest mobile technology and one of Nvidia's faster mobile GPUs, to provide enough performance that you won't be embarrassed taking it to a LAN party. But its performance doesn't come cheap.

Asus G50v

With an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor the Asus G50v also has an Nvidia GeForce 9700M GT graphics card. The rest of the spec? It goes a little something like this: 15.6-inch screen, dual hard drives (2x 250GB), a two-megapixel swivel web camera, built-in...

Sometimes the stars align and magic happens and that's the case with this laptop. For a portable gaming machine it's seriously compact yet still manages to pack everything you'll ever need in one stunning package. Asus G50v is tagged with Asus, laptop...

Asus G50 Laptop Review

Asus seemed to have designed this beast of a laptop to grab your attention. The lid itself even though only a shiny, glossy, black lid is a masterpiece and the specification is one to fit.

The Asus graphics card is a Nivida GeForce 9700M GT, which is faster than most of them. It packs a 512MB of dedicated memory and finds it a walk on the park to move a few polygons around

It seems though that Asus couldn’t get it right second time around. After placing the trackpad in a nice position in the Eee PC S101 they have failed to deliver again. The trackpad seems so close to the wrist rest that most people will end up,...

The G50 is an attractive, purpose bult, decent laptop that comes with a stunning performance. It’s battery life may only just top an hour but a gaming laptop of this size shouldn’t be carried around. Laptops.co.uk would label this beauty more of a...
