Asus U56E-RBL8

The only thing preventing the budget-minded Asus U56E-RBL8 from being a terrific buy is stiff competition from another Asus laptop.

Strong performance, battery life. Comes with lots of RAM, hard drive space. Attractive design.

No USB 3.0 ports. Cheaper Asus laptop offers more features for less money.

Asus U56E-BBL5

The Asus U56E-BBL5 laptop will give you future-proof internal and external components and several wireless connectivity options, all for a sweet price.

USB 3.0 port. WiMAX and WiDi 2.0. Long 7-hour battery life. Powerful Core i5 processor. Aluminum casing.

Volume doesn't go up very high.

Asus U56E-BBL6

Its other standout features include a USB 3.0 port (the other two are USB 2.0 ports), and a 750GB, 5,400rpm hard drive, which should store all your digital memories for years to come. A DVD burner allows you to burn DVDs and watch the latest flicks...

Great battery life. WiDi 2.0 and WiMAX wireless technologies built-in. Gorgeous design. Priced reasonably. Numeric keypad included. Excellent performance scores. USB 3.0 port onboard. Largest hard drive available

WiDi 2.0 requires Netgear receiver, a $99 purchase

The Asus U56E-BBL6 budget laptop has all the desired features, including a fast Core i5 processor, cutting-edge features, and best-in-class battery life, sold for a price few can pass up.

Review Asus U56E-XX028V Notebook

Run notebook, run! The motto: Small and mobile is no longer only to apply to ultrabooks. Asus promises that the U56E is a high performance, enduring runner that will stir up the office field properly. Is this enough to justify a purchase price of over...

Extreme battery runtimes, Good application performance, Low noise development, USB 3.0, The U56E fuses the size and performance of a full-fledged work machine with the mobility of a netbook or ultrabook. Hardly another office notebook offers a longer...

Weak display, Comparatively high price, Average case stability, Somewhat clattery keyboard, Unfortunately, the reflective and somewhat dark screen prevents outdoor use. A slightly crisper keyboard is also on our wish list

Meh

Would not buy. Seriously build your own, this computer isnt worth the trouble you'll have with it.

Fast, great for simple things like writing papers, low resolution games. Easy things

Fault USB 2.0 Ports on the right side and Audio ports. USB ports failed after about 1.5 years of usage so I cant complain much about that. The audio ports right out of the box. The wireless adapter inside died within 2 weeks of ownership. Constant blue...

I loved this machine. It had all the specs I was looking for. Unfortunately, while I was setting it up, it abruptly powered off and rebooted. I experienced this 3 more times over the next 2 hours of installing software. I then noticed that the...
