ASUS U6S ultraportable gets reviewed

ASUS certainly got our attention with its ultraportable U6S laptop, and it looks like it piqued the interest of the folks at HotHardware as well, who've now turned out a full review of the diminutive, leather-bound system. While they expectedly...

ASUS U6S

The ASUS U6S is a 3.9-pound ultraportable that crams in powerful performance parts and includes a leather interior.

Powerful innards. Leather interior. Gorgeous design. Full-size keyboard. Under 4 pounds. Built-in optical drive.

Battery is too small. Mouse buttons aren't well designed.

Asus U6S-A1 review: Asus U6S-A1

Asus U6S-A1

Ditches the slow ULV CPUs of other ultraportables for a full-powered Core 2 Duo; leather accents are a nice touch; includes HDMI port.

Unimpressive battery life; a bit thick and heavy for an ultraportable.

The leather-clad Asus U6S is an ultraportable that will require you to tote around a little extra weight in return for its power and ports. It carries a fair price, but we would like it more if the battery ran longer.

Asus U6S

Impressive specs and a great finish, but battery life unfortunately falls far short of spectacular.

Asus U6S Review

The Asus U6S is a solid notebook that sports a 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and has a 12.1" LED backlit screen that saves on battery life. The glossy brown lid has blue accent flakes in the paint, which we like to call "flavor crystals" that...

Review Asus U6S Subnotebook

Object of desire... Advertising the Asus U6S one word dominates –

Nice design; High-quality materials (leather, aluminium/magnesium); Surfaces feel nice to the touch; Many ports including an HDMI port; WLAN standard-n, Gigabit Lan, Bluetooth and UMTS (ready); A lot of accessories (Bluetooth mouse, bag); User-friendly...

No docking option; No Firewire port; High noise level even in idle mode; High energy demand, even if turned off

Asus U6S

Asus has just launched the U6S, the base model which gave birth to the Lamborghini VX3. Is it worth its deal?

Good performance, Sharp 12.1-inch screen, Light weight, Battery

A bit expensive, Could do with a better GPU (NVIDIA 8400M)

Asus U6S-2P025G

A great set of features and plenty of power, but the price is very high for this ultraportable.

But the U6S really impresses with its feature set: it comes with one of the largest hard disks of the group (250GB); draft-n wireless; Bluetooth; four USB ports and a card reader. There's an HDMI port, a fingerprint reader sits between the mouse...
