A powerful CULV laptop with a great battery life and strong components

Great battery life ; Decent amount of power ; Very portable

Screen could be better

A good mix of portability and power, the Inspiron 11z shows you can have a good balance of both

Dell Inspiron 11z review

Dell's Inspiron 11z is good value, but some poor design choices means it just misses out on an award.

Dell Inspiron 11z review

Dell's first netbook was the Dell Inspiron Mini 9, followed shortly after by the inch-bigger Mini 10. The Dell Inspiron 11z goes one better again - it's in essence the same chassis, now scaled up to accomodate an 11in screen. But instead of an Intel...

For anyone looking for a compact laptop that’s a tad more capable than a netbook, the Dell Inspiron 11z might just fit the bill. Extra screen space and resolution, along with a larger keyboard, make daily use more comfortable, and the extended battery...

Dell Inspiron 11z

A poor touchpad and below-par build quality undermine a budget laptop with plenty of potential.

But, in the end, neither longevity nor the price tag prove enough to overcome its problems; the creaky chassis and dreadful touchpad design undermine a budget laptop of great potential.

Dell Inspiron 11z

The Dell Inspiron 11z isn't a netbook, it's a laptop, and just to prove it you'll find Intel's new CULV Celeron 723 processor, a whopping 250GB hard drive, 2GB of RAM and Windows Vista all in a portable 1.5kg size. For your money, you also get a...

The Dell Inspiron 11z deserves better than a 3 out of five and if Windows 7 were sitting pretty on there, then we’d add an extra point. As it is, this is a good mini-laptop with a great screen and nice keyboard that is let down in a couple of areas....

Dell Inspiron 11z review

A fine little laptop let down by Windows Vista and some poor build quality in places

Great screen, Intel CULV processor, loads of hard drive space

Sticky and hard to use trackpad, Windows Vista

Dell Inspiron 11z Review

The line between laptop and 'netbook' has been blurring for a while now and the Dell Inspiron 11z sits firmly in the middle ground of the two and could be argued to be either. Extending the Dell range that started with the Mini 9, then the...

Dell Inspiron 11z notebook

This entry-level Dell notebook offers better performance than a netbook but is only slightly bigger and more expensive

Thin and light despite reasonable processing power, high resolution display

Poor touchpad design, glossy screen is annoying and has minor backlight issues

Dell's entry-level Inspiron 11z notebook has significantly more power than similar sized Atom netbooks but remains thin and light. A good display and reasonable keyboard size make it easy to use; the multitouch trackpad is our main point of annoyance.

Dell Inspiron 11z

The Dell Inspiron 11z is an attempt to rectify the biggest drawback of current netbooks--low processing power--by using Intel's ultralow-voltage Celeron and Pentium CPUs. The 11z--which starts at $379--is available with either the single-core Celeron...

Good keyboard feel ; Very good CPU performance

Mediocre battery life ; Practically unusable touchpad

If it weren't for the absolutely awful touchpad, we'd have no problem recommending the speedy little Dell Inspiron 11z.

Review Dell Inspiron 11z Notebook

Mobile Couch Potato. The 11 inch laptop class finally saw some mo

Clearly higher performance than netbooks; HDMI; Small, quiet and light; Low power usage; Good worksmanship; Multi-touch function; Hardware installed in the laptop is typical for its class

Glossy display; Delicate lid; No VGA (important for those users who use older peripheral devices); Only moderate battery life; Difficult to upgrade the internal components

The Acer Aspire 1810 Timeline offers similar performance and is also available in various configurations; the Samsung N510 is also an option, depending on your priorities, with less processing power but better graphics.
